Troll and Toad - Buylist

Has anyone experienced selling to T&T’s buylist? If so, how was your experience?

I have some raw NM shadowless holos that I am debating on grading. I checked T&T’s buylist, and the prices they are willing to pay for raw NM would be well worth it to sell compared to getting it graded and selling for roughly same price.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks all!

I used to sell to them. It was years ago, but the experience was smooth, and hassle free. IDK what the process is now, but there ya go. =)

i send to troll and toad all the time. Never had any issues with modern. Vintage they can be iffy with accepting. Give it a shot, theyll just send it back if you arent happy with a potential offer

Thank you both!

Make sure you click the “approval nessisary” box before submitting the buylist so they won’t just auto deduct anything without notifying you

FWIW I sent a large bulk order to them totaling $3,000 off their buylist. Everything was organized and I consider 95% or more to be NM or better.

They came back to me with $1,200 offer

That is my only experience with them, but was a massive waste of time

Also Troll and Toad is making staffing decisions that is negatively impacting their business. They gutted their payment department. I’ve been waiting to get paid for 4 buylist orders, with 2 of them going all the way back to August. I emailed them 3 times already and they told me to pound sand. Terrible business right now

Sad to see. I love the trollandtoad buylist. I wonder what’s going on that they felt it nessisary to let go some staff.

I thought tcgs were free tendies!

I only use T&T buylist for store credit. Had an issue once where they claimed they paid me but didnt so since then I do store credit. never had an issue since

I have used them 10 times or so for buylists. Nothing super recent to add on to the above payment issues though.

It used to be super smooth and I loved selling to them.

One of my last couple of orders went terribly though. I submitted pack fresh modern cards and they came back to me saying the cards had damage and were offering me pennies compared to what they originally priced them at and were very slow to pay.

My actual last order I did went ok though. That was back in January.

They have gotten A LOT more picky about “NM” condition when buying despite their reputation for sending out NM cards that are damaged. And the rate drops drastically when its not NM so that’s my only word of warning. They will send your cards back if you don’t want to process them.

Where did you hear about the staff issues?

From the customer service team when I pressed them on sending my check out

Ah ok. I’d be sad if they dramatically cut their buylist program. That program is easily the biggest factor in me growing my collection over the last 5 years

I am unsure what % of their inventory comes from buylists or them buying from a distributor, but they certainly need a buylist to stock cards for reselling, so that shouldn’t be going away.
They are also probably trying to push people like me away from sending cards to them in exchange for a check. They probably like store credit and paypal payouts a lot more.

Ah, I do store credit 99% of the time

Yup and that pays out instantly so nothing at risk for your collecting strategy

That is wild
