Is it just me or does anyone else not really like the art? Something about the Pikachu makes it feel like a Target graphic t-shirt.

I don’t mind the pikachu but I do agree with you in that I’m not liking it. I think it’s just the same-same colour scheme. Lots of yellow, orange, and red. Also, the gems behind Mew look so bad… is that the terrastal stuff?

what’s wrong with t-chinese?

the biggest issue i have with it is the charizard. it looks like part of the background until you see the face. technically, it should have some dark purple/black coloration in the crystalline body which would help it be more pronounced, but yeah it just feels flat overall. the top half is fine, but the bottom half is a mess.

Feels close in aesthetic to the Festa promos or XY EX promos.

Card looks great but I think the design on the box itself + the logo stamp are the best parts of this.

I second this. I think the accessories really look great with the keychain being a standout for me. Everything looks very traditional royal.

Cheers!

There’s nothing wrong with it. I just try to stick to English, Japanese, and Korean since I can read it.

Also releasing is a carry case with SV8F packs, accessories and 3 mirror foil promos, one of which the FA Pikachu promo is based on

But is this traditional or simplified chinese ? I thought traditional chinese was a lot older than just 5 years

Traditional is 5 years going now.
Started October 9, 2019

Well, yes and no. Traditional Chinese cards were first printed for Base Set, then a big gap followed, they then got EX Legend Maker followed by an even bigger gap until they started continuously getting releases in 2019. So the anniversary is not for the first Traditional Chinese cards getting printed overall, but rather for the ongoing official distribution.

Simplified Chinese also released a 1st anniversary box a while back, btw. Huge box lol

Went ahead and pre-ordered some. I really like how this box set is looking in regards to its contents.

Box opening video,

  • Same card format as an Art Rare (i.e. no texture)
  • Has not been announced in any other language since its reveal
