people steal at Walmart everyday lol. But yea Pokemon theft got really common start of Covid. All the stores where I live have Pokemon product close to customer service
Poor guy didn’t even get to open the packs
I’m pretty sure I saw a video during the Covid shutdown of someone pulling a gun out to try and buy Pokemon cards. I feel Pokemon has always been the “wild west” at times, people just go nuts over it lol.
Edit:
Article talking about it:
It’s a shame there’s nothing really in-between letting the guy go free and detaining him in handcuffs in the back of a cruiser over a $153 walmart theft
Some guy stealing 150 bucks from a target. This is a nonstory imo
iirc someone pulled a Knife out in Washington in front of the Pokemon Vending Machine because the guy in front of him was taking everything and the guy got really pissed off because he was waiting and would get nothing
Weird, i’ve seen some videos of girls who got detained for shoplifting and they didn’t leave in cuffs
The judge should rip the packs durring the arraignment. If he didn’t get any pulls he walks
Is this 420Blaziken, the guy Scott is always talking about?
That does it! I’m done.
That Pokemon Addiction numbers are stonking. Poor guy hit rock bottom. Praying 4 U.
Man that is sad.
In the UK almost all stores that sell cards keep them behind the counter and have done since the start and i dont unserstand why most stores don’t. Prevents theft and doesnt tempt would be oppurtunists in young kids who just want it but don’t quite have the concept of what theft actually is.
What doesn’t make sense to me is the “over $153.00” of Pokemon cards. Like, $153.00 is a very specific price. I’d understand saying “over $150” because $153 fits that. But if you’re going to the exact dollar amount, “over $153.00” means the value was between $153.00 and $153.99. At that point why not list the cents and say exactly how much he stole, especially since you’ve already put the cents in the post. You aren’t even saving any space.
Some people just want to watch the world burn I suppose.
A few bad apples will ruin the hobby for everyone especially the young kids that are just getting into the hobby.
True that, it feels weird when I go to Walmart as a grown man and have to ask an employee to unlock the shelves for me then escort me to the cash register at the front of the store
Its a high value item, left out in the open by the entrance of stores. Nothing to see here lol
It makes me not want to go to the stores to shop for cards, and that takes away some of the joy of going to see what you can find.
