We all have those Pokémon that we have to do a double take every time we see them because we think they are a different species. Or perhaps Pokémon that we completely forgot existed because we thought they were their more popular counterpart.
What are two Pokémon that you think are (essentially) the exact same?
I’ll start: Krabby and Corphish
They are both red and tan, similar size, similar eyes, both are based off of crustaceans, both very obscure and not often used.
I obviously know they’re different Pokémon and I often know I have the name wrong, but it can be hard to force my brain to load the correct name because it thinks the wrong name is close enough.
Humans and Chimpanzees share 98% of the same DNA profile, thus it is reasonable to say that we are 2% smarter than Chimpanzees. But it is that 2% which differentiates their ability to amuse us with tool usage from our harnessing the insanely destructive power of the atom, while we have simultaneously reached the lofty heights of our species walking on another celestial body.
Imagine if we actually did meet an alien species and they were 2% smarter than us. What destructive and utterly miraculous feats would they have accomplished while he have been literally and figuratively been light years away from the greatness they have achieved. We would not have even begun to scratch the surface in terms of what is possible.
