The PWCC Megathread

Yeah when it comes grade vs grade psa always does better.

Any Politoed fans? I understand it’s pop 1, but this price seems a bit crazy, right?

Low pops do crazy things to set collectors and species collectors.

There are loads of holos from DP onwards (maybe ex onwards) that have really tiny PSA 10 populations because that’s the beginning of the end for them.

Total pop only 87. At $10 a pop id buy every NM raw one I could find at this point on tcgp, eBay etc lol

PSA not always but often gets higher prices at auction. It does depend on the card though. More accessible cards, even if higher end, eg Base Unl Zard in a PSA 9 would get more value compared to a BGS 9 or CGC 9.

However I’d always buy BGS for my PC as its cheaper for essentially the same quality card (eg BGS 9.5 with nice subs vs a PSA 10). I do also like BGS slabs.

I’d grade with PSA for value (if I intended specifically for a resale).

Depends what my goal is.

People buy the label nowadays in my opinion. I think I was one of the few people saying CGC 10 base 1st ed zards are a good buy at $40k (if the card was a stronger copy).

People want things when prices are higher, not when they are cheaper… in my opinion.

Cgc and bgs remain steals at almost all levels (except pristine and black label which are quite expensive).

Anyone from outside US having problem with payment with Creditcard for an invoice?

I get the same errormessage every time, with try again later.

Contacted PWCC and they claims Stipe could not make the transaction, and ask me to contact my bank. Have no problems paying and using other sites and pay for items on ebay and webshops in UK.

Cash App Pay is not released in Norway, so can not use that option to pay…

Bank may be blocking it for “outside normal purchasing behaviors”.
Had that happen on an online auction site before.

DP holos and reverse holos are notoriously hard to grade, not surprised at all.

This is going to be a dumb question and I know I shouldn’t worry. But my anxiety gets the best of me sometimes.

Thinking about buying a card in pwcc from their fixed price listing.

How reliable is their shipping and service? What are their protections against lost packages or damaged packages?

I know eBay is really helpful to the buyer but I’ve never used pwcc. Any help is appreciated

I had a package damaged one time from pwcc fixed price and the offered very fair compensation for that damage and let me keep it. Obviously I didn’t get the thing for free but I think they gave me like 10% off. And it was fairly expensive at the time so I was happy

So if the package gets lost or stolen you don’t get a refund?

I don’t know that hasn’t happened to me. I just had the one experience with some damage to comment on. I would imagine that the packages are insured for loss/theft

Two of my PWCC cards arrived with a damaged case, they offered 25 USD credit for each to pay for reholdering.

I’ve only used them a few times but each time shippings been smooth sailing!

Only thing is sometimes it takes a while to dispatch, but that might be different now

If you’re worried about getting it shipped out to you, another option is to purchase and store in the vault. Find out where PWCC will have a booth at a card show, and request to pick up the card(s) at their booth. You should make sure with PWCC support that they will allow pick up at that card show. I would definitely ask PWCC support before making the purchase though just to confirm they still allow this

I had contacted PWCC about dropping off and picking up at the Burbank card show back in 2023 and they allowed it. You needed to make the request about a week prior to the show and vault fees did still apply

As for shipping from or to the vault, I’ve never experienced any issues before so I’m afraid I can’t answer your question

I’ve shipped many dozens of packages from PWCC and have never had a problem. PWCC also insures your products when they ship, so you would be given the insurance payout if it’s lost/stolen. Buy with confidence.

Thank you everyone! I’ll contact pwcc and see what they say. Like @wisewailmer said, it’s the year of getting your collection goal and I’m hoping to be able to get this card soon

It is a fantastic time to buy early WOTC rn. Late WOTC seems to be steady, and gold stars seem to be in the spotlight too. But early WOTC I think people are a bit burnt out on.

Market ebs and flows, it’s been fun to watch over the years
