Can someone explain Human Verification ?

I can think of no explanation. In no world will this get paid for.

For the memes lol I was offered one for $450 like 9 months ago and you can get a PSA 9 for $50 so yeah, not getting paid.

If your crypto guess is right, couldn’t this be paid for?

You just bid on your own card with another account, pay in crypto and then you get USD. Is that how it works?

Also there’s a TopSun Kakuna that went for $10,200 which surely isn’t real interest either?

At least two bidders are needed for a card to go so high. So if what you are saying is true, there would be the seller, shill account #1, and shill account #2. I suppose the seller could “wash” crypto this way by taking a marginal loss from PWCC’s cut, but I would imagine that PWCC will put a stop to it. It affects the integrity of their auctions and it makes them look complicit under U.S. law if any of the crypto-USD exchanges are from criminal sources.

it’s not crypto related as PWCC has paused crypto payments at the moment (got this from my representative)

Y’all will have to find a new boogeyman for the time being

Perfect, I can bid this week without having to deal with crypto buyers.

I’m sure it’ll be up soon. Just because it’s down momentarily doesn’t mean it was expected to be used as payment on the previous auctions.

My rep told me it’s going to take a bit so it won’t be a payment option for last weeks (and presumably this upcoming weeks) auctions.

In general I think the amount of people using crypto as a payment method is much smaller than everyone thinks and they’re not going after the same things. Additionally there’s much better ways to “wash” crypto than going through an auction house.

I would love to get numbers on this from PWCC.

Agreed.

So the Kakuna is for real or some trolling for April Fool’s that will go unpaid?

Ah, I missed that one. Definitely not getting paid for.

Do you think tax season/refunds contribute to higher auction prices?

As someone who has historically spent tax refund money on Pokemon, definitely yes. :innocent:

Curious with other people’s opinion on this. Maybe it deserves it’s own thread. But I’ve only ever sent cards to PSA but how do CGC and BGS generally do on PWCC auctions? Is it always significantly lower, or is it usually not too much of a difference that it might make it worthwhile for lower priced cards given the cheaper grading fees? BGS of course I’m considering just for those that would be possible pristines, CGC not so much.

I personally only would buy PSA but that’s me being old school and not understanding the current state. So please educate me!

Cgc and bgs do worse than psa, always, on every platform, unless it is cgc pristine or bgs black label.
