I’m submitting a big expensive Pokemon lot to PWCC for the first time. Any tips you all have to make sure it all goes smoothly? My biggest question is when it comes to sealed product do they authenticate it when they get it? I just don’t want people returning my items after they open it due to making up “its fake” or don’t get the cards they want since PWCC allows returns.
I appreciate that, but I’m not in that financial position hahah was just wondering if we as watchers will have to worry it will get shilled but looks like it won’t.
You’ve got to be bullish and a believer that it’s in a set card class just below Charizard 1st. Or be part of an investor group!
I am late to admit that of the 10 or so top set cards I’d say make one of the pillars in the hobby house, this card is one of them, so yeah, being in the former category of long term bullish I get it. But I would not strive to own it as much as other cards I could buy for that price, either.
oh, man! You tell me…OK, if English set cards only as their own pillar…Base Zard, Venusaur, Blastoise. Shining Gyarados, Neo Lugia, Neo Umbreon, some key Gold Stars, Neo Revs, some Crystals…actually I’d probably have to have close to 20 to set the English set pillar. And then maybe in 20 years there would be 20 more to add!
Vast majority of graded Vending, Intro Pack, VS and WEB cards still do extremely poorly on auction (mostly <$100, even for PSA 10), aside from a few odd outliers (link1, link2, link3)
Neo 2 & Neo 3 Premium File non-holo promos do very well in higher grades, considering how worthless they were a just year ago.
VHS Intro Pack 'Saur PSA 10 sold for 4,5x as the SAME card in CGC 9.5 (3x 9.5 + 10 on surface) → draw your own conclusions from that, but I think the CGC buyer got an comparatively insane deal.
At least in my fields of interest, those are some pretty interesting data points.
EDIT: Oh, and let’s not forget this English unlimited Neo Discovery Yanma PSA 10. Population of just 9 and sold for “only” $1,125. To me, this seems extremely cheap. But it could also simply mean that there just aren’t that many unlimited Neo Discovery PSA 10 collectors that are desperate for this card.
Fan Club Eevee is the card that made me change my mind on set cards. The artwork, color background, and popularity of eevee should easily account for the price difference.
Well, the artwork comes down to personal preference. I like the Porygon even more and find its background even more interesting. Also you had to have 700 Fan Club points for it, compared to 500 for Eevee. So the barrier of acquisition was higher.
But the prices are what they are, I guess.
I also prefer Porygon over Eevee because the artwork speaks more to me but I’m not suprised how high the price jumped in the end (I’m part reason because I bid for it, lost tho). Fan Club cards such a cool thing, would love to have something like that in europe.
The CGC VHS intro pack Venus was mine. Final hammer was painful. I was expecting $250. I’m not normally comfortable saying my cards would have gotten a psa 10, but this one would have. I didn’t want to wait forever to get it back or pay $300 and obviously it cost me big.
The Vending Part was a Shame. On the other Hand good News, maybe its possible to finish the Vending Goal =)
Thanks a lot for digging through and share intresting Parts of Sellblock
I’m a big believer in buying the card, not the grade. I accept that not everyone subscribes to this thinking… BUT when I see a card going for 700% of what the PSA 9 version just sold for I have to scratch my head.
