The new shiny Suicune is awesome but...

I am a bit surprised wtih the decision to include Suicune as a shiny instead of an amazing rare in S4a.

Even though I absolutely love the artwork (even more so than amazing rare Raikou), it left me wondering whether we will ever see amazing rare versions of the trio; Raikou, Entei and Suicune. It would make sense to have the three of them in either amazing rare or shiny, but a mix of both seems a bit weird.

What is everyone’s opinion on this choice? Do you think a Suicune and Entei amazing rares will still show up in the future, or will each dog do its own thing instead of ‘following the pack’?

We’ve seen them split up the dogs before in dark explorers and sun/moon (former had no suicune ex full art, latter no raikou gx full art). Same thing in Sun and Moon with Articuno getting a full art and moltres/zapdos not, though they did all end up on one as a tag team. I don’t think we’ll get a suicune amazing rare, entei is a maybe though. There’s no logic to their choices as far as I can tell.

Pokemon clearly hates completists as they love splitting trios up, and sometimes they never even release the third.

I’ve lost hope in this, I need my sanity so I’ve come to terms that they will always separate trios.

The only hope I have in them releasing a trio set of amazing rares is that they released a set for prerelease cards with Raikou (Lost Thunder), Suicune (Lost Thunder), and Entei (Cosmic Eclipse).

The amount of times they they have done 1/3 or 2/3 for trios makes me feel like I’m in an abusive relationship with Pokémon.

Yeah I found that really strange, but what I’m really confused about is the shafting of Entei :slightly_frowning_face: But like Sacari mentioned, pokemon isn’t afraid to split up trios.

For what its worth, they could very well have a Suicune AR planned. I think its safe to say there will be more amazing rares in the future, I don’t see them only putting 3 in our February set, but even after that there will be more sets that could potentially have ARs in them!

I think every legendary is going to get an amazing rare. I’d be surprised if this isn’t the case

Yeah I think it’s too soon to cast doubt on this. We’re going to have sword/shield sets for the next 2 years, so I would just give it time. In the meantime, we all have a shiny suicune to enjoy.

Suicune is my favorite character, and I’m grateful for every one they print so long as I get it.

I also remember hearing that in a video but would take with a grain of salt. It just means nothing else has been announced with amazing rares because we don’t know if the next main set will have any.

ANazing rares are a hit and the sword and shield card series is on going. I’d be surprised if they do not make more. I thought every legendary was the plan. These cards alone could help sell sets if people collect. Pokémon is known for making ultra rares and not including other similar legendary Pokémon though. So maybe they won’t make all them
