Not the best situation, but I figure this would be worth posting.
TLDR/TLDW, Unpluggedgamestore is closing shop and is discounting their entire inventory starting August 18th-October or whenever theres no stock left. They deal in tcg and non tcg related stuff.

I wouldn’t call this a great deal per se, but it comes up so rarely that it is worth considering.
Also, do eBay sellers not understand how QR Codes work?

I might be in the minority here, but I would buy 9’s all day before dropping 15K on a PSA 10 Creator Pikachu. The differences between 9’s and 10’s are so minuscule for non-holo cards… I just can’t rationalize it.

Jeeezzz, I didn’t realize the 10 was worth that much! The sealed pack is only worth like $1500. If the 10 is worth $9k, then the pack must have positive EV (based on the pop report, it doesn’t look to be incredibly difficult to grade).
This is anecdotal only but I cracked about 8 packs and received 0 10s on the pikachu. The pikachu specifically only got one 9 with mostly 8s. The others received mostly 9s with a few 10s sprinkled in.

Correct me if I am wrong, but my understanding is that Pikachu is particularly hard to get a 10 because it is first in the pack order when you open from the seam (ordered 5, 4, 3, 2, 1). Because it is at the very front of the pack, it can receive damage far more easily than if it were somewhere sandwiched in the middle (e.g., Torchic at 3/5).
Also centering on these cards is often trash.

Definitely more prone to damage being the first card…the centering does suck. A mix of these two factors resulted in most of the 8s

Thanks for sharing! ZephyrEpic is fantastic! They have some of the lowest prices of any Canadian shop I’ve seen, and offer free shipping within Canada over $50.
Not really any must haves from that sale for me (but if those Brilliant Stars/Evolving Skies booster boxes come back, oh boy!), but I can see this being great for modern sealed collectors.

Agreed, they’re the diamond in the rough store I found during 2020 that I’ve actually continued buying from. I usually only buy binders and stuff because they even have the best prices on those too (they got the zipper 12 pocket ultra pros for $30, best price I’ve seen). I’m not usually buying English these days, but some of those prices I couldn’t not buy. Grabbed a crobat box and figured I’d take a stab at celebrations again, seeing as it’s probably the last opportunity to for a decent price.
Another store I really enjoy is PrismaGames. They have a GTA location and they were offering the best bulk buy prices I’ve seen. I traded in a bunch of cards I didn’t want, got like $130 in store credit and bought a tag allstars box and some generations packs with a clean $130 discount lol.

I wonder how long it will take for people to realize that buying a card with intent to sell isn’t going to work for the short term. People are looking for deals, not interested in paying last sold price from 6 months ago.
