I want you to think, for just a moment. What is the holiest grail out there right now? A Charizard? An illustrator? Maybe some low pop Lopunny card that strikes your eye?
No matter what you could possibly think of, I promise you, nothing could be more significant both historically and materialistically than what I have just added to my collection. Ladies and gentlemen I share with you now, the apex of ALL collectables:
That’s right. Our very own @pfm’s hard work on the playtest card scandal that rocked the collectable world last year was in fact, documented and published in a wonderful piece written by Popular Mechanics. This article alone brought to light one of the biggest scandals in the trading card world, but I took it a step further.
I had the GOAT himself sign this bad boy for me! A piece of collectable history, documented by a major publication, is in fact signed by the man who uncovered the largest fraud in collectables history. I choose CGC to grade such an important piece. Because without CGC authenticating fake cards to begin with, we would never have made it here. Since CGC is known to authenticate anything, let’s see how they did here…
Well, can’t win them all. For some reason CGC will authenticate fraudulently printed playtest cards, but not the signature of the guy who exposed it. Funny how that works.
funny thing they graded and authenticated my veronica taylor ash signature on the poke adventures manga just fine. i guess if its not someone super well known they will do that thing
You tempt me to grade my own PFM-autographed copy now, that Scott gifted me with Secret Santa. (/s, I prefer to be able to open and read the article again later on personally.)
But I’m glad to know my collection too includes ‘the greatest collectable in E4 history’.
