Not entirely. If they could capture a portion of the sports market it would prove to be far more lucrative than if they captured part of the non-tcg. Master of one or master of none? Also, the way that they structure their submissions, youd probably be more upset constantly waiting to get a slot in their que than if you sent in your cards and forgot about them
Wow, those labels from HGA look awesome. It might be the future of grading companies… CGC also has special labels for their comics. It might be cool to see an upgrade on label designs for Pokémon.
Yeah very true … But there is alot of pokemon guys looking for other options …now especially… Just seems like a miss on alot alot a lot of business turning their back on this market
If u are a grading company and all u do is grade cards I feel like the logical thing to do is accept peoples cards and grade them lol
Just received my first BGS 9.5 slab and wow…the quality of the card is not what I expected.
The card has significant fraying on the top border. Enough that would disqualify it even from my raw sets, let alone my gem mint sets…if this is a 9.5, then the copy in my raw set is a 20.5 lol.
Is it just a super weak 9.5 or is Beckett typically this loose with Pokemon cards? I expected the card to be PSA 9 quality, not 7 quality…
If this is typical of BGS 9.5s, then I will certainly be sticking to CGC 9.5s and PSA 10s in the future. I’ve rarely, if ever, seen this sort of issue on a “gem mint” CGC or PSA card.
ya, I don’t know how psa messed up. I let ludkins to tell psa it red/green gift .
This is my fav one, got this out of the theme deck. I wish it was 10, but I knew it gonna be 9 because light surface wear.
I was looking at this for so long trying to figure out what the problem was. I had no idea there was a gift box that used the same art. Is there a way to tell a difference?
The Gift Box versions lack the rarity symbols the regular Vending ones have
Gift box are also non-glossy, which Vending are. But I wouldn’t be able to tell that from a pic inside a case.
yes, I will post pictures.
Like what others just say vending (glossy with rarity mark) red/green gift (non glossy with no rarity mark)
Only you could tell by looking at the rarity mark in pictures, but would be easier if it glossy or not in person.
The last couple of weeks I have noticed a lot of my orders have been entered into the system. It seems like they are definitely getting things done a lot quicker without having to deal with new subs. Anyone else noticing the same? For reference:
Unfortunately not too uncommon…I´ve got only a handful of pokemon cards but ~500 mtg bgs cards and they often make questionable grading decisions…I´ve got surface 6s that have 1 roller line and surface 9.0 that got 2, they often don´t account for clouding on old frame foils, and in my honest opinion… any .5s can be -.5 or +.5 on another day, it´s impossible to distinguish.
Yeah, you definitely can’t tell the difference between the glossy/standard cardstock in pics. I definitely understand the frustration at them identifying the card incorrectly. Do you think you’ll try to do anything to get it changed or just leave it?
Roughly the week it is graded. Usually a few days after, but I have in the past been able to correctly identify cards of mine that were still marked as QA check 2 because the overall pop was low enough I knew any increase would very likely be mine.
I was able to find the numbers from a PSA rep regarding pokemon related submissions.
2020
PSA Pokemon TCG Submissions: 1M+ % of Total PSA Submissions that were Pokemon: 13%
2021 - January - March - Only 3 months PSA Pokemon TCG Submissions: 1M+ (If they stayed open, they would’ve quadrupled by the end of 2021. Which would be about 4-5M) % of Total PSA Submissions that were Pokemon: 30%
