To play devil’s advocate, there could be some other subtle surface damage or something that factors in
Maybe a print line too
I think for all of the photos you posted, seeing the backs only, any of them could potentially be 10s (maybe with one exception).
For context I also think grading ultramodern cards generally is just silly. But that’s just my opinion and I’m probably in the minority right now.
Grading ultramodern cards is for money to buy the not ultramodern cards that I want.
I’m just trying to get better at pregrading. That way, grading can be a part of the hobby for me without being purely negative.
These next ones are base set holos. I think that they are probably in the range of 5 or 6. What do you guys think? Both of the cards do have some edging on the front. The Poliwrath is worse.
I’m so sorry for the long post and the double post. I am curious to know what you guys think these base set cards would grade at. I’m thinking that they could be 7’s or 8’s. That could be very optimistic.
@swrbl If you don’t mind me asking, what is your reasoning for grading these? It seems like you are aware they will grade lower, so I’m curious why you want to go through the effort of grading.
3 or 4 on a good day on that Poliwrath, Mewtwo maybe a 5? Probably lower. Binder cards for sure
I’m just curious to know if my thoughts of these would be pretty accurate. I’ll more than likely store them in a binder
Your intuition is likely correct on a low-mid grade. A lot of my childhood cards look just theses - Binder is definitely the way to go!
Does anyone know if PSA has any plans to label holo shift errors?
I’ve seen they’ve started labelling other errors but wondering if they have commented at all about holo shifts.
Thanks!
PSA uploaded an error guide. It’s pretty neat, even though they lag behind CGC and are often inconsistent in these early days.
Anecdotal but my bulk orders have been turning around in a month. This is like pre 2019 speed!
