How do you cancel a PSA collectors club membership online? It says on the PSA website to cancel either use the My Membership section of the website or call their support number. From what I can see, there is no way to do that? What am I missing?
They do NOT grade in Europe, they just send to US, and that is not a good thing whatsoever imho.
Itâs like a middleman basically.
It is also NOT a reason why us Euros would buy their slabs.
Yes you can submit to their middleman base in Europe.
But their market in Europe is almost non-existent.
I get that people grade for auth or personal collection, but theres times when you want to change your collecting goals, and having 1000s tied up in grading fees that are in the end always a loss when their slabs donât sell in our market.
My understand is you pay for the full 12 months up front. So are you looking to not renew in October 2023 or are you looking to cancel and get a 1-2 month refund?
I just want my membership to not renew. All the literature from PSA says the membership will automatically renew unless I cancel online or call their support number to cancel
I am sure yours are pretty valid points. I guess my own opinion was from a non graders perspective. I am a binder collector and donât grade cards but I do know that for resale PSA is the best value. With all of the complications with middleman services, I was thinking it would be best to just ship it to CGC themselves and have them ship to grading facilities in the US. Just cut out the 3rd party middleman.
Since PSA does not have such services yet for EU and with the new revamped CGC labels and all, there seems to be some momentum to it. The Germany submission method has generated a lot of positive feedback. Also, having raw cards myself, I would think I will still get better value of the cards are graded by CGC as compared to not at all.
Cheers!
I think Europe is a great market for cgc. There are already so many no name German, French, Italian and you name it grading companies that seem to do fine due to the high barier to US grading companies. PSA might still be the number one but with the ease of submission and the new label CGC is a strong viable option for Europe collectors.
I second that and @handschoenâs post. I think it is sensible to highlight that not all Europeans are alike and preferences differ (surprise). CGC is the only US grading company that runs a professional business in Europe and many people like that because middlemen for PSA are often not as professional (and have other risks).
I collect cards, regardless of whether they are in a CGC, PSA or BGS slab. I submit to CGC though: Maybe the value gap is the other way round in 10 years, who knows. I donât care but itâs great if @renato and others keep their attitude, as it keeps prices for CGC low.
UhâŚI got my card back after sending it in for a new label. Paid $145 (Not including my insured shipping there).
CGC sent it back to me exactly as it was doing absolutely nothing.
Yaâll have me worried now about sending my next submission to PSA. A few cards I would be super pissed if they had crimps or additional wear added to them. Hmm hopefully it really is a small percentage and they do a good job making it right if they damage something. I better take thorough videos of cards before sending.
Same here. Rolling the dice that the 62 cards I recently sent in avoid the same fate. Best of luck!
You too! Hope they all make it safely back to you with high grades!
I had a card get damaged during a re-holder. Itâs being âreviewedâ and has been in the âgradingâ stage for 5 months now.
Geez thatâs terrible Iâm sorry to hear that.
Donât you have the âEdit recurring Membership paymentâ button under your membership details ?
Thatâs where I clicked to cancel my subscription.
I donât. I got called PSA and they said that they changed the membership types on Dec 2023 to be automatic renewals. Since I purchased my membership in Oct 2023 I apparently had the âoldâ membership type that does not automatically renew. Of course, none of their documentation tells you this online so you have to call to find out
Great info to share with us. I highly apprecciate it.
Hello folks,
2 questions I have:
-
How does PSA, Beckett (ir any other grading company) determine centering on e-reader cards (those with yellow borders such as Skyridge) since there are no at least 3 (supoosedly) equally thick borders to compare? Do they have the values off some proxy / official internet version of the card and just compare them with individual cards being sent for grading? Or is there a definition of a nominal thickness of, letâs say, top and right border and they just compare the two?
-
I have attached pretty common factory corner finish seen on a lot of cards â this kind of raised darker corner edge though without any whitening (I guess caused by dull blades i.e. not ideal cutting process) often present on all 4 corners. Do you know how PSA / Beckett rate these? Is it still possible to get PSA10 with such finish especially after PSA bumped up their standards? What would Beckett give out as a subgrade for such corner?
Any feedback (also with real examples) is much appreciated.

Iâve graded one E-series card with Beckett, and a bunch with PSA. My impression is that PSA is pretty lenient while Beckett RNGs something between 8.5-10. If you look at past listings on PWCC/Heritage youâll see what I mean; theyâre extremely inconsistent.

I canât tell if the whole corner has been turned up or if itâs just a tiny part but it looks very minor.
Front centering on e-Reader cards can be determined by the top right corner. Though in my experience, the big graders are less stringent than they should be on centering for these cards.
Regarding the corners, I have seen anything from PSA 6 - 10 with these types of e-Reader corners. Unfortunately, I donât think there is much uniformity when grading poorly cut/raised corners.
I had 3 cards damaged from reholder on 3 separate occasions.
