The Giant Professional Grading Thread

Not Pokemon, but PSA won’t grade the Bandai Digimon 1999 set. But they will grade the 2001 set.
Yes I grade these, don’t judge me lol

That celebi is like a psa 7/8 quality! wow. This is a bad misgrade but nothing you can do.

That’s weird I thought I’ve seen some of those graded on ebay. I actually sent 2 Digi-battle series 3 cards as last submission, hopefully they grade them.

In their pop report they have series 3 (year 2000) but original 1999s they only have graded a few of the promos. Makes no sense.

Definitely starting to get frustrated with my first BGS submission. The cards were “received in” to Beckett July 19th under the standard submission tier. The current estimated turnaround time is 10-15 business days. But my cards are still ungraded in the repository.

probably because they moved to another place and therefore the order was upset

This occurred to me as well.

Gets even worse when they charge you for them and you don’t get them for another 12 weeks.

They charged me immediately upon receipt, lol.

Unfortunately I think you and I both missed the “new” turnaround time window, which only went into effect on 8/1:

So our standard subs are still considered 20-30 business day turnaround. However… I will hit the 30-biz-day mark in two days, and I’m not confident I’ll get mine back in time. Plus I know you’ve been waiting even longer than me.

I agree with @yamahap45 though, has to be the move to a new location screwing things up.

Unfortunately I believe you are right.

However I am petty and impatient and MUST complain about it on the computer. >:(

I think Beckett doesn’t take his business seriously.

it used to be top 2, but now …

Are we going to see 10$ submissions at cgc again? Their traffic seems to slowed down quite a bit. More expensive to have graders sitting around doing nothing, than to just reduce prices and have more cards to grade.

This could probably be chalked up to BGS’s pop reports (and web structuring in general) is g-a-r-b-a-g-e. In fact I think the footnote mentions that.

I do agree though that BGS needs to show more investment in their UI and other client-facing areas.

Assuming these grading companies scaled their operations to peak 2020/2021 demand, I would guarantee a $10 grading service in the near future. Like you said, they have all the hired help and facilities to do it. They have to stay busy or they lose money every working hour.

Yeah their online system is really bad, its also almost definitely because that is a 1 day poll taken right after BGS moved their entire operation and is in the processes of revamping their slab, website and logo so they’re not focusing 100% of their effort on grading rn.

I just had a look at Beckett’s site, and it seems they’ve added a tracker. The ‘online form’ is still unusable and you basically have to print it out, but I’m probably going to send a few cards to them at some point. I’ve mentally prepared myself lol.

Let’s take an example. This is Apex of Power BGS Pristine 10. ( Just a random picture from google)
If you try to check the cert number you will find a set named : “2020 Dragon Ball Super Series 9 Universal Onslaught”. But if you try to find it in the pop report a message will appear with the text " Sorry No Record Found. If you try to search just “2020” in the set name, you will able to find the " 2020 Dragon Ball Super Universal Onslaught Pre-Release" version but not the normal one.

Beckett, what are you doing???

Anyone know anything about Mana Grading?

No, but they are not the first grading service to mention AI grading, nor will they be the last
