Mine went to grading mid january, nothing happend since, so it will take a few months a least, but when i spoke with PSA a few days ago, they’re think ALL backlog shall be finished sept they think
Question y’all. So I have two cards Id like to send for review. My PSA 8.5 1st edition Tyranitar. It’s easily a 9 maybe even a 10. I don’t see any flaws at all really. And the base set 2 zard looks like a PSA 9. One whitening spot no other flaws. Anyways even if they don’t upgrade them at review I still need them recased. Both have a crack in the case so I’m basically trying to multi task. Long story short. How do I even submit a card for that. Do I have to pay for the review plus the recasing. Even tho if I just select review if it upgrades it gets a new case anyways. I’m also tempted to just crack. But I’d be devistated if they get graded lower on a miss grade or something. What should I do guys?
Cracking them gives you the highest chance of an upgrade. I haven’t been around long, but I have yet to see anyone get an upgrade without cracking them. Cracking them also gets you new cases. If you’re worried about a downgrade, just submit for recasing.
They were done years ago, but I have twice sent in small groups of PSA-9 cards for regrade (in the holders) and gotten back some 10s:
April 2003, submitted seven 1999 Base Set Unlimited Nidokings… two came back 10s.
Sept. 2017, submitted 1 Blastoise, 12 Charizards, 2 Venusaurs (all 1999 Base Set Unlimited)… 2 Charizards and 1 Venusaur came back 10s.
Statistically you can’t win with a review. You’ll have to decide if getting a grade bump is worth you going through the process of cracking and resubmitting raw.
I believe someone on this forum went through a similar situation. I forget who it was, but if I remember correctly after a certain amount of days PSA/FedEx both considered the package lost and PSA paid out a lump sum of money to the owner of the cards. I think it was based on the graded card prices since the cards had already been graded by them, but I do not think it was as much as what the individual would have got actually selling the cards.
Really shitty situation either way, I hope they find the package for you.
It’s beautiful 14 months in the making. They inputted my submission # really quickly, sent this out on Friday. More surprised that it got across the country that fast tbh, if only returns would get to me that fast!
Has anyone noticed PSA paying more attention to card values and upcharges? I’m wondering if they are aware enough to catch a Grand Party card at the value tier lol
My last submission has been in Quality check #2 for a while and I’m wondering if I’m gonna get hit with some upcharges though. It’s a good thing I suppose, but I could live if they overlook the card value.
I’m guessing they will upcharge based on the new pricing, not old?
