The Giant Professional Grading Thread

In contrast, my sub went into assembly in April-ish and is currently on its way back to me. So it can happen pretty quickly, too!

PSA is trying to get everything completed by July 1st to then re unlock their prices right? like including the TCG value stuff? I May be interpreting this wrong.

Currently has anyone gotten any express back? And if so when was y’all’s entered?

Ps.I have no idea how y’all waited over a year for cards. This is killing me lol

The five stages of grief

Denial - It’s not actually going to take a year for them to grade, is it?
Anger - Honestly this is ridiculous, a friggin’ year or more to get my cards back!?
Bargaining - I mean, SOME people are getting their cards back, and PSA even entered my order into their system, so maybe things are moving along now?
Depression - I will never see my cards again
Acceptance - Most likely, I will get my cards back eventually, and over time the pain of waiting will lessen. Hopefully they will still have value in the 2-3 years it might take to get them back.

Thoughts on grade with these corners? I was hoping for an 8 but now I’m starting to think 7 :sob:

Likely 7

By completed you mean get everything graded? No chance they get everything graded they’re still a year+ behind on that. They have gotten all current orders registered into their system though.

Ah okay damn! I think they should focus on grading most of the cards they have now before re-opening to the public.

What if I dipped the top of my CGC slab in a semi-transparent paint to change the ugly blue color? Someone please try this for me!!

The bulk and cheaper tiers are not coming back anytime soon. Expect Express ($150), and maybe Regular ($100) to be the only tiers coming back in the foreseeable future.

Looking for opinions on what grade this would get.

The card is pack fresh but it has some slight bumps on the holo. They’re not dents, nothing visible on the back. I’d kind of describe at as looking like a grain of sand/dust is stuck under the holo layer when printing.

Is this the kind of thing PSA would knock down to a 9 or a 6?

For reference - here are my last three Express orders:

If it it bothering you that much, it would be far safer for the card to cut out an a strip of a colored translucent film paper, such as for camera lenses, the same size as the label, and attach that. You could even find from a plastics supplier an ultra thin cuttable slice of adhesive translucent vinyl or PVC to stick straight on.

I thought about something like that too. Or a color-changing laser, like how colored paper fades to white in the sun

I’ve seen leather cases for graded cards that have a cut-out window for the grade. Could put in one of those and leave in a window facing the sun until the label faded.

That looks like possible water damage maybe from humidity in how the card was stored. But for PSA if it has any surface damage like that it would go down to at least a 7 but since its all over who knows what the grade would get

I’ve toyed with the idea of creating sticker ‘skins’ for slab labels. Maybe now’s the time :stuck_out_tongue:

I actually like how the blue looks with Chanseys haha and in general . Was just offering impartial advice. I don’t like that reddish color (no offense). But the lil Chansey in the bottom corner would be so cute!

Hah yeah I think the red doesn’t really work well, was just experimenting with transparency tinting since the label itself still has to be visible

Customizable mini LED strip with a remofe control to change colors. Have a similar setup in my aquarium.
