Would ~$1400 be reasonable for this?
2002 Japanese Mcdonald’s E-Series promo set. All holos NM-MT according to the seller. Price is a bit higher than usual as I’d be paying 25% VAT on it.

Is the price inclusive of the VAT you will pay? In my personal opinion, a great price for a raw set is in the range of 700 - 1000 USD. I understand that a complete set is not very common to come by, but even if the cards are NM, 1400 USD is a bit steep of a price to pay for this.

Depends on condition. If the right ones get a psa 10 then ur in the clear. However; it is very unlikely the cards are in 10 condition. Ask for more pictures especially of the more valuable cards. That will be a start. In terms of paying that without knowing exactly, a little high IMO

Yeah $1400 is with VAT included. I live in Sweden, so anything on the US market would also include 25% VAT on top of the purchase price.

Just my opinion but pay what you’re willing to pay unless you’re one of those people that tracks the value of every purchase for their collection they make, or your intention is to grade them for stonks.
I would be comfortable to overpay a little for a complete vending series or Southern Island set for example, even if that was just for my binder or just for my own pleasure.

I really like all the cards but there are SO MANY new sets beeing released all the time.
With recent price spikes in Japanese booster boxes my safe haven in modern feels violated.

Would be great if they actually printed product too.
I haven’t see anything in stores (including the Pokemon Centres) besides Pokemon Go and Dark Phantasma for 8 months now. Ridiculously poor distribution - I thought we would be past this by now but still the only way to get your hands on new product in Japan is to pay 150% msrp to some scalper person on Mercari.
