Remember I want a master set of rayquaza, and paying $100 bucks for 2 regular rayquaza ex’s is ridiculous.
Whats even more ridiculous is the fact that a reprint is only 6 bucks less than the actual version.
Not knocking what your saying of course, but I think it’s fairly obvious that buying anything in this market thats not to sellis a losing battle in the long run.
You are too far zoomed in. It’s been going up slowly for 9 months then took off the past 3 months. The signs were there to get it before the huge spike. It’s modern though, so many people have Celebrations packs stashed away. It will crash
A lot of celebrations cards have been rising immensely to the point where it’s comparable to the tag team boom that just recently happened (and died out for a bit).
It’s a horrible time to get these cards overall, and i’m very much certain that most if not all of these cards will crash, but I’m willing to eat my words if it truly comes down to it.
This can probably be attributed to pre-30th anniversary hype. It’s the same pattern we saw earlier in the year with previous Team Rocket cards going up because of Destined Rivals hype.
It’s pretty crazy because all these cards were sub 100 for the longest time and seen as cheap reprints with an large, ugly Pikachu stamp. But as this market has proved countless times, what was once tacky becomes in vogue with time.
Why tf is the Bubble Mew nearly $700 on TCGPlayer now?
It’s like there are endless targets for whoever tf is manipulating this shit to choose from. How is there still so much money after all the other pumps of all kinds of stuff from tag teams to vintage to sealed modern to Celebrations crap to modern promos….
Who the hell knows. The art is 10/10, don’t get me wrong (I own several copies), but it has no business being this expensive.
Then you have Alt Arts from SW&SH sets that are just as good, and they sit at a fraction of a price with abyssmal pull rates. Looking at you, Celebi V.
Personally, “stonks modern” is now my currency to trade for older stuff
