Update: He attempted to force a return.
Item was delivered two days ago. 20 minutes ago, he sends this:
I get the notification on my phone a return was requested and I have five days to respond. I go back a few minutes later on my computer and see it’s been escalated to a case and now I have an email saying funds are on hold until it’s resolved.
So I’m digging around eBay for a bit and get on the chat with customer service. The chat dies and says there’s an error and I’m disconnected. So I go back to my email to find good news:

This is the second time theyve listed it. They messaged after this that they cancelled on their buyer from the previous auction that ended at $7k because it was too low and they are hoping for more. Apparently the waters need more testing.
