Man, its really annoying the amount of times recently I’ve had people buy cards that are gifts for others. That wait until the last minute before buying their son/daughter/partner a gift…

I’m not a full time seller so I have 3 business day dispatch time on my listings. Often I’m working until 10pm, or just you know.. busy with other things, so same day dispatch is just not feasible for me.

Fairly often I get the ‘when will this be dispatched’ message and I just give them the day it’ll be dispatched and all is well. Most of the time its just people wanting to make sure theres no issue with the order if its not been dispatched on the same day. Whatever.

Yesterday I got asked when something will be dispatched, and I answered that it’ll go tonight.

8am today I get a message from the guy asking where it is. Because its his sons birthday today and the card needs to arrive in time. I explained that I dispatched it last night which means its probably just not been picked up yet considering its 8am.

The guy has been polite the whole time so its not true Ebay Garbage but I just dont understand how this happens so often and needed to rant

I’ve just never understood what’s so hard for people in this situation to just say to their loved one “Hey, I got your gift, think you’re gonna love it, but it may arrive just a little late!”

I know it was for a kid in this case, but what a wonderful, easy lesson to instill some patience as a virtue.
