The Fanatics Collect [formerly PWCC] Megathread

This is correct. I was told a significant amount of staff is there (and I don’t think they have that much staff to begin with lol)

Hey guys,

I won a 4 digit auction item at last night’s auction. The auction got a bit strange in the final 30 minutes. I was leader bidder, but I was then outbid. I later got an email that those bids were removed. So then I was lead bidder again. Another bid(s) came in during extended bidding and I won exactly at my max bid price.

I’m going to pay, but I am considering sending an email to my sales rep just to ask if those final bids that ended at exactly my max price are also suspicious upon closer examination. I’m not sure if this is worth asking, as the auction is over. I’ll pay either way. I just kind a feeling that something fishy happened.

Can someone share their thoughts? Worth asking about? I don’t want to be like a drama queen who think everything is shilled, but I have a feeling in my gut.

Thanks - Zubat

I would 100% reach out. It makes you not want to pay, but then what, you get banned? This happened to me recently on ebay, it feels gross and shouldn’t be allowed. In the end I just paid and moved on.

This happened to me when I bought my Sugimori signed card. Definitely fishy.

@codytcas mentioned this and I thought it would be interesting to see if others have had the same experience recently:

Fwiw, limited data points, but this has gotten worse for me personally in just the last month or so, esp. for anything above a few hundred bucks. I know some portion of this is shilling etc., but I kind of wish Fanatics adopted some kind of auto-pay mechanism like Alt.xyz / eBay for stuff below $2k or something.

I think that would help at least a bit… right now, it’s super frustrating and while I have had a great overall experience with Fanatics - it really doesn’t seem like they’re doing that much to chase down payments or screen bidders these days lol…

I think a seller may have gifted me something as I got a $3 charge email a moment ago.

Can I waive this?

Funny thought experiment but you could bankrupt someone by sending a million energy cards to their vault address :pikadizzy:

Is fanatics taking longer than usual to fulfill orders? Almost at two weeks since I paid and still hasn’t shipped.

Yes. i have 2 waiting to fulfill. During peak times they are known to be a bit behind.

Same

Some friends had eBay orders shipped to their vaults and the seller threw in bonus cards as freebies. Fanatics automatically sent them to CGC for grading without asking and charged them

I forgot what the resolution was or if they still do that for cards that arrive without a submission created.

Did fanatics change their submission policy? It is used be that you only get charged $3 if the value of the card submitted to the vault is less than $50

I have an invoice on my account for $3 now, and they’re asking me to pay on pain of locking me out of the app

Nope, I haven’t even received the invoice for a <50$ slab. Did you submit in the right category banks (small auth graded items)?
Hopefully this isn’t some kind of a/b beta testing

Not aware of a change. My “submission complete” email from a day ago states…

All collectibles under $50 that are not listed for sale within 30 days will be charged a one-time $3 fee. To avoid the fee, list your item now.

I think you have to let the card sit in the vault at least 3 months to lower the fee. They don’t want people using the vault just to grade cheaply and quickly and then insta-withdraw, they’d rather grade and then have you list it with them.

Thanks for the responses

Yes, but turns out this has to do with an older submission

Turns out it was a $30 card according to card ladder, but I listed it on FC marketplace and thought I was covered, apparently not

All three listings are from the same seller…

Are you the seller?
