The Fanatics Collect [formerly PWCC] Megathread

My account has been stuck for two weeks and I wanted to write about my experience. I think the platform is fine but the customer service is abysmal.

I’m not sure what triggered multifactor authentication (MFA), but at login I’m prompted to enter the 6-digit code sent to my email. Thing is, I never receive the code and thus my account has been stuck for two weeks. (Relevant side bar here but I’m still able to bypass MFA on the app by entering my password, hitting enter, then closing and reopening the app. This is a known breach by the Devs and looks like nothing is being done about it. I can still bid, buy, and sell but I can’t transfer cards or access the money in my account).

I have been told to whitelist the following email: fanaticsid@e.s.fanaticsretailgroup.com with no success. I was recently told my university email ending with .EDU is no longer acceptable, which may be what’s causing this issue.

I have been contacting the representatives in chat for nearly two weeks that all end with the empty promise of someone from the “trust team” will reach out to me. I have been polite every step of the way but I’m not sure what to do anymore.

anyone else feel that the market prices have been much slower to update since late May/early June? a lot of my cards are fairly liquid (like ex cards in PSA 7/8/9), so they’ve had plenty of sales in the last six weeks for a new market price to have been established. I almost wonder if they’re slowing down the updates due to the insane price growth recently, but I could be inventing a conspiracy

Finally got my account unlocked. I don’t want to complain too much since I think this is a hiccup, but it could have been handled faster. I get why fanatics doesn’t have a phone number but I think talking to someone would have helped

For the sake of completion and possibly helping someone, the solution was to go through a verification called Plaid (show ID, last 4 SSN, address, selfie) then provide a new email address (I used gmail). I was sent a link in the chat to do said task.

IT overwrote my old email with the new one and I was able to login.

You’re not the only one and at least for me it had nothing to do with email name or anything of the sort — they randomly emailed me saying account is locked when I hadn’t bought a card on there in months.

Same experience, to insane levels of frustration with the most absent non existent customer service, they finally after over 2 weeks simply had me verify account. Absolute disgrace, could have been handled in a day. Said I had 2 accounts with same info which is against policy. I did no such thing – they said other account had many unpaid invoices – also impossible, and refused to elaborate further.

After telling them the last time that I’d be ceasing using the platform ever again and such they emailed back within a day and did it. This was after a week of completely ignoring emails.

Idk why every acquisition needs to degrade the service provided to customers. PWCC always had great customer service via the chat bubble.

well… their platform also used to work pretty well during extended and now there is at least 5 different glitches that they never bothered to fix

Been finding the search not being 100% accurate lately, ill search for “pokemon van gogh” and it will return 27 results. If i change the viewing to anything like “highest price” from “featured” for the same weekly auction block, i get 8 results. If i change back to “featured” i get 27. Same thing for other keywords like “pokemon gengar”. Odd

it’s been like that since at least last year when I began using FC

damn probably means i missed out on tons of potential buys because fanatics doesnt show me all the results lmao i guess i have to scroll through all thousand listings to make sure i dont miss a card

It’s pretty bad. I saw a card when I was logged out. Copied the title word for word when I logged back in to search it and it didn’t find it lol

Fanatics charged me a 15 dollar fee to vault a sticker that a seller added as an extra

I would also need to pay a fee to remove it from the Vault.

Guess I didn’t learn my lesson when they graded a card with “Thank you” written on it from a Japanese seller.

This is the nail in the coffin for me, gonna move my stuff from the PWCC days to the PSA vault. Honestly disappointing that somehow so many people still use it to sell cards. Just send your cards to ZandG or Probstein, ppl!

Have you tried contacting them for a resolution? My experience with Fanatics customer service is very very good. They have waived fees from similar scenarios for me a few times…

Yeah I’d recommend he reach out to his rep. They’ll waive it and mark it “ineligible” in the vault. It’ll just sit there lonely but better than paying for it

Someone bought a card from me 3 days ago from Buy Now Marketplace but hasn’t paid. My card is now in exile, where it is neither theirs nor mine. It’s just sitting there, menacing. It should be called Buy Later Marketplace

Oof sorry to hear. Not sure if it’s the case, I’ve found my payments to sellers slow to process over the weekend (I usually do ACH) and even when the money is fully-sent from my side, I’ve found Fanatics often takes another day or so to “process” everything on their side. So hopefully that’s the case for you. Maybe I’ve just missed it on the site, but they don’t do a great job of showing sellers visibility into when funds are being transferred vs. buyer hasn’t even initiated payment imo.

Also, anyone have any idea why the weekly auction was extended a day? Just one of those every so often cases without a visible reason?

this is the first time ive seen it extended with no glitches involved

Ahh yeah I’m just venting. The card shows up in ‘sold’ now, so it was paid, but I think it will take a day for Fanatics to transfer funds to me. Not sweating it but was annoyed the buyer took 4 days to buy it

In the waifu trainer bubble couple years ago someone bought my way over-priced buy it now lillie/acerola trainers i had listed, never paid and i didnt get them back into my vault to relist till 2 weeks later. Unfortunately during that two week limbo the market popped and crashed and the lillie would’ve have sold for real for the price listed if they didnt troll by holding it hostage

The cards being held hostage is an accurate description! Hopefully, if you did end up selling, you saw some gains.
