The coolest autograph cards I ever seen - PWCC Auction

You don’t want to know

I’m curious too. Someone came forward in the middle school dance (@smpratte TM) and sold so now a whole bunch are. I wouldn’t think too many are out there. It’s not like people back then we’re trying to make money off signed cards like today.

I was wondering when a Himeno would show up! Interesting to note that she drew a Psyduck sketch on cards she signed at the 2006 World Championships, so it is very fitting that she drew Psyduck here as well.

You might have some competition for the Himeno :sunglasses:

RIP to those who paid top prices for the first batch.

Business proposal: we can split the cost and have 50/50 ownership. What a savings!

This is the same stunt I would try to pull on the playground when I wanted to make a kid trade me their cards without letting them have mine.

Coincidentally, we have also arrived upon the basis for fractional shares. :+1:

Idk about RIP. They got some pretty unique cards. The first round had a yellow border and silver Holo pattern. 2 of them were custom Pikachus each by Sugimori and Ooyama from 2004 worlds. I think the prices were reasonable.

Maybe I am the wrong audience for this type of auto, but $33,000 and $15,600 sound ridiculous to me.

I saw this. He was too harsh on himself. It’s not that big of a deal the card isn’t a “real” card.

I think it’s humble from TCA and bold to at least bring to the attention of others to be careful on a graded pokemon card that is not. “CUT” is a weak label from PSA, as he highlighted. PSA should mention “Fake” instead that will reflect better the reality.

I think one thing to mention is that “cut” doesn’t stand for custom, it just stands for a cut auto. Here’s an example of an auto that looks like it was cut from a book page and then encapsulated: PSA/DNA Your Friend ROD CAREW Cut auto autograph Minnesota Twins | eBay

Yes on TCA. But PSA’s not going to put “fake”. It’s not really “fake”. Compared to a TCG released card it is. It’s hard because it belongs in a green custom label if it weren’t for the signature. That would solve any confusion. But you can’t have a green label and then authenticate a signature. So it seems to be one or the other and PSA opted to go with the red.

They ended at:

Himeno - Psyduck: $8,100

Ooyama - Weedle: $6,900
