The Content Creator Megathread

Not particularly Pokemon related but I’ve been devouring Chris Sewall’s sports cards videos and I don’t even collect sports cards. I particularly like his “Regular Rollers” series where he just highlights interesting eBay sales. Has that straightforward knowledgeable style similar to respected poketubers mentioned here

Really good video, talks about the situation of graded cards. Even goes into the CGC shilling that went on in the E4 forum and the stolen Zard.

Why I Stopped Grading My Pokemon Cards - YouTube

That was a good video @effectspore, I disagree that PSA let this happen copletely. I think they were a victim of the very sharp increase in grading popularity that was hyped by many influencers. It simply happened too fast for them to control. I do think they are positioned to handle large amounts of cards better than most other companies and we shall see how CGC and BGS handle the large influx of cards coming to them.

Can’t say for sure what they’ll do but ones things for sure; it won’t be enough and they’re going to dramatically increase prices and/or turnaround

I have been watching some PTCGO content recently and thesableyes is a great watch. He really knows the game well, uses different decks in every single video and does a good job of explaining every play.

I think the new Youtube trend is going to be disappointing PSA and BGS grading returns videos. I like Leonhart a lot (except his thumbnails) but boy is that guy absolutely terrible at predicting his card grades lol

There definitely seems to be a large amount of people who are submitting obviously off-center cards and not giving due diligence when it comes to checking for scratches and other minor imperfections. Finally being disappointed that they don’t receive 10s across the board. Or they think that even with such obvious faults, cards are still worthy of 10s somehow as if PSA and BGS have no standards at all.

This one is Yu-Gi-Oh but it’s the best one I’ve seen recently. So much guff about PSA taxing and all sorts of other nonsense LOL.

@beggles, I think people just don’t know how to examine cards. Like, you can’t just examine a card under normal lighting and expect to accurately predict the grade. You need to shine a direct light on it and look at it from every angle. Those guys were just clueless. PSA doesn’t give something an 8 or 9 unless there’s actually something wrong with it.

I stumbled upon the same channel the other day, my favorites were the stories of deals he tells. Definitely agree there’s a lot of fun content there and I don’t even follow sports or sports cards at all.

Judging by Garys newest Youtube video, I think he sold his Charizard collection and is doing a sort of farewell to them in a video, being a cheeky boy pretending they are just going into a storage locker for forever

Tell me what you think, like favourite and subscribe to this post with your opinions

What I’m really curious about is what he has in storage that would “hurt a few of the markets.”

How many EX Deoxys boxes do you have, @garyis2000?

Ehh. I didn’t watch the entire video.

But this did not seem like the case at all. I honestly don’t know why someone WOULDNT do what he is doing. He is very active in the community, appearances at events, has rabid followers, just got his IG hacked etc. At this point, it’s like storing a bunch of gold bars in your house or down the street and telling the world about it.

Send them off. Lock them up. End of story.

The bit about hurting the markets… anyone that has many copies of a truly scarce card can do this. Does that mean it goes to 0? No. But it can certainly drive it lower. I’m sure Gary has enough minty WOTC to crater it. IF. He sold it all in a very short time. That’s the key lol. Gotta sell it off in blocks. Each rung of the ladder, up and down so to speak(I’m not saying he is or implying this)

Havent watched it yet so I can’t guarantee it ain’t a crap video.

It’s about the 1st Ed Base Case

Part two just came out. I enjoyed watching both.

Just finished it, they never mention the price. I’d guess maybe around 2.5

I don’t want anybody to interpret the above to think I’m not buying and adding to my collection. I am most certainly still hunting for more.
BTW, very perceptive @r2d287,

Gary, I thought you had 10-12x PSA 10 1st base Charizards? What happened to the other 6 not in the video? I know you sold one to Logan Paul.
