How thef do see a corner curl in this quality of photo?!?! The tie thing aside, seriously Scott you have looked at too many cards or you just have infrared/ultraviolet cones in your eyes. Floored. Also, again thank you for your discerning look at my card greatly appreciated
before bidding on one of these i literally zoom into that spot like 5 times
It’s true, the card from my original post appears to be a mislabel. I have compared it to a few copies. Unfortunately, I haven’t had time to amend the article. I have yet to contact the seller and PSA at this point. Hopefully, I will have a resolution to update everyone with in the near future.
To be 100% fair its not completely the fault of PSA mislabeling because each submission has to be input. It could very well be user error input to. Also technically the guy who traded you for it wasnt wrong in saying “you cant acquire this card outside japan.” Hate its not what you were expecting though. ![]()
So @eevee that is 100% user error on my part at the time i submitted I thought it was legit, however i was very wrong in thinking PSA would catch and correct a mistake… i thought that was why I paid them hundreds of dollars ![]()
Secondly, i was buying Japanese vending and other goodies including the og corocoro in person in Illinois in 96’-98’ because Mitsuwa marketplace had direct distribution from Japan. Its a japanese supermarket with a subsidized bookstore and back then hobby shop with cards and model kits. They had a Dance Dance Revolution arcade machine at least 2 years before it hit the US market!
… I legitimately remember seeing a goth kid do a handstand while playing DDR and still hitting every note ![]()
Japan never ceases to amaze me. XD
Wow, side note- this makes me both happy and sad. Super cool to think that Pokemon was already here way before any of us kids knew about it but sad that I lived less than an hour away from that Mitsuwa back in the late 90’s and had no idea. Now there’s a One Piece store inside that same Mitsuwa.
The only reason I found out is because we lived 2 blocks away! I meet people from Arlington Heights all the time who have no idea what Mitsuwa is! Just crazy. Sleeping on a gem.
Back then it was way less busy, the food court would be mostly empty on Saturday mornings with pokemon league on one side and a group of retired Japanese men chain smoking watching the TV (airing Japanese TV) on the other.
Fun fact, those 4’ partition walls designated the smoking and non-smoking sections. I also feel that said meetup of elderly gentleman is why they still have “no consumption of alcohol in the food court” signs posted. Those guys were going hard at 9AM ![]()
Good times
For the people in the thread wondering how many are accounted for still, just popping in to say I’m one of the 1999 TMB kids.
Have this card and two of the bird phone cards all in great condition.
No idea where my Tropical Wind is T_T
This is insane! Thanks for sharing!
TT_TT doooo im so sorry for your loss. That is horrible. Also, the stuff you have is so cool thanks for sharing
Either I never got one or it’s buried in my collection somewhere and it hopefully turns up.
Bear in mind that employees of WotC (and Creatures, I assume) also got copies.
I had a few of them given to me by MT Mike, quoted in the WotC chat above.
Got a few of them signed, too.
I had a mild heart attack when I saw the cards in the paper holders, I thought someone had snipped the corners off with scissors. But still, holy cow, what amazing cards!
Stunning, nice to see you still around
Beautiful! It is very unlikely you got a wind though, those were only given in Japan.
Noted. That would make me feel better haha
