I honestly couldn’t care less for National Dex if they deliver a good game. I only care for the first 251 pokemons, but I would still play a good game with new pokemons. National Dex is not a big deal, but as it was stated previously in this thread, objectively it is a bad and rushed game. You can love pokemon and I totally understand it, but defending this game and saying there is nothing wrong and it’s a total win for Pokemon, is blindness at it’s full.
We’re measuring criticism differently. By sheer volume of butthurt tweets SWSH by a mile. Detractors of the other games are not as vocal, so it appears as if they are criticized less. However, to answer your question ORAS and DP were not received well critically, and there was a lot of fan criticism for USUM.
as someone who hasn’t played a pokemon video game since fire red this game was mind blowing and i’m loving it but i definitely agree that they could of made it that much more better by spending some more time with it.
gamereaks fallen into that apple iphone phase where they don’t push the boundaries as people will always buy which is a slight shame
Only played about 10 hours of mine so far really and what can i say its a pokemon game nothing new really some new features big pokemon which to me is not a bad or good thing just is their. The big down side to me is the dex purely because i loved to try and complete my dex as post game experience I do not play competitive at all just like exploring the world and catching pokemon.
My thoughts are if you look at the first DS pokemon game and the last on the same hardware and the difference is night and day on graphics looks ect so this to me is the first attempt and you can see with the wild area some good ideas they just need that across the whole game make it totally non liner and scale the pokemon levels based on the level of your pokemon meaning you can do the gyms in whatever order you want so you get the open world feel .
Funny enough I looked this up the other day, been debating about buying the Big Box Double pack of Sw&Sh and keep it sealed. Whether you personally hate the game or love it, any pokemon item doing well is always a good thing.
I believe the game is fine for its target audience which is school children. As adults we thirst for a different experience. I do wish that one day there is a rpg game for adult audiences. Pokemon Go kinda does with the character avatar not being a child but that’s not a “standard” pokemon game either.
That being said SwSh has had the best gym story in my opinion. They really hype you up as a trainer celebrity and the battles are pretty epic. Raids are cool at first, but then after you do so many of them you realize they could had been so much more (but as I said previously this is meant for children so it can’t be too complicated).
