Yep. I tried to bid on an auction a few weeks back, and had to fill in almost as much information as I currently have to for buying a house, just to place a bid:roll_eyes: Passport, bank records as prove you can spend the max bid you want to set, etc. I kinda understand it, but at the same time I think it’s way too overkill. And in the end I lost the auction anyway, as I was kinda expecting…

The base set cosmos are insane. I wonder if a former WOTC employee needed some money so is just dropping all their inventory. I’ll definitely be bidding but would love more provenance.

It seems a lot of the certs are in the same cert ranges, I’ll have to go through and try seeing if there are any adjacent prototype cards looking at https://www.cgccards.com/certlookup/ . This specific CGC submission had 15 cosmoscards all from base set: https://www.cgccards.com/certlookup/4297536001/

I did not see that . I found the post I was talking about and it wasn’t quite 10 years old. I wonder if this new auto is inspired by the old one. I also could have sworn it included a shiny base gyarados sketch because I’ve seen that before.

I would expect that the owner of the Base Set Cosmos test print is the owner of the Disco Holo test print is the owner of the Make Ready test print, etc. etc. This person owns an insane amount of prototype cards and has previously sold variants on eBay, Heritage, and now Goldin.

I’m going to leave it at that. If you know, you know. :zipper_mouth_face:

Im alone in thinking that i dont see the hype/coolness in the cosmos base set? its just base set 2 without the logo

You aren’t alone. I think they are just alright. Especially since these were cut from sheets to maximize profit. I’d rather have the intact sheet.

Lot of speculation that that wasn’t colored by Arita, but was done by the person after the fact :eyes:

But base set 2 has the better holo pattern by far so I get the hype

Even if it was Arita (im doubtful), i still find it goofy.

I thought the first copy or two, that popped up a few years ago and we’re actually done by Arita, we’re kind of cool.

All these copy cats don’t do it for me though.

The cards might have came from this uncut sheet won in a Heritage auction recently.

That link is for the disco holo test print. I think the other post was for the cosmos holo pattern.

My bad, I’ve edited my comment.

Saw the updated link. What was the final sale price? I don’t have a Heritage account, so figured others would be interest as well.

The sale price was $250,000.
