Some story, I’m not a big twitch guy so I don’t know the entire reasoning but streamer Sodapoppin is opening a 1st ed Rocket Returns box on stream and destroying every single semi valuable card… real class act
Link if you want to watch
5k card? What’s wrong with these people? It’s also the 1st rarest, not second . On a related note, I cooked an evolutions magneton in my frying pan this morning with butter and cheese
These scumbag types ruin everything they touch. Everything from the Logan Paul saga and onward is just gotta come back to bite our hobby in the ass. It’s completely become about profit: both for people buying cards and for people making “content” out of them. Prices are already retracing but I wouldn’t be shocked if it doesn’t have a much stronger retrace in the coming months.
It has become way too mainstream way too fast, and none of the exposure is actually for appreciation of the cards. Sure, the overall the value of our stuff has gone up, but we are in an extremely unhealthy state right now. It reminds me of the current state of the United States itself: bloated with dough, but spiritually and morally dead. This is going to come crashing back down to earth soon, and at a much faster rate than it already is.
I think he started a new trend. I think im gonna make a new youtube channel where I burn an item in my collection every friday. I think ill start with my Aquapolis box. Who would watch?
I find it funny how some people got genuinely angry over this, it’s their cards / money and they can do whatever they want with them.
If you don’t like their content, fair enough it’s not like anyone is forcing you to watch their streams and the complaining that these twitch streamers in general are making the prices rise by opening boxes on stream is just petty.
I’m not mad about it, I just think it’s dumb. Literally burning a valuable collectible for a quick popularity grab. It’s his he can do whatever he wants with it blah blah blah it’s still silly to me
It’s not always about the money emba, most of us see these are pieces of artwork, just because we don’t own it, doesn’t mean we can’t object to its senseless destruction.
