I think the funnest part of collecting is opening the packs and not knowing what’s inside. If you can live with losing the *FUTURE* value of a sealed product I would go ahead and enjoy opening!

I wouldn’t open it, just buy the crystals you want, you’ve got a small chance to get the ones you want opening it but you’re guaranteed the cards and the grade you want if you buy them. A PSA 10 crystal charizard is less than the price of a booster box so yeah … don’t open it.

I’m just like you. It’s hard for me to keep products sealed therefore I don’t buy old sealed products. If you bought it with the intention to open it I don’t see a problem here. But keep your expectations low in regards of value.

Hi all

Recently acquired a skyridge booster box and trying to work out whether to open or not. A few questions:

1. any idea on the pull rates for crystal cards? I’ve heard 2 per box but unsure if that’s likely 1 holo and 1 reverse?

2. is it possible to weigh for the holos / crystals in this box?

Best to keep it sealed if you’re looking for investors value.

Weighing is stealing so not likely you’ll get help with that on a reputable and honest site like ours.

Weighing is stealing if the packs are sold without disclosing the fact they have been weighed. I have no issue with someone buying a box and weighing to grab the holos then selling or grading their packs as long as they advertise the fact that they are weighed. I look at it like selling a car. Nobody is mad at the guy who is selling the car and discloses that it needs a head gasket, where people get mad is when someone sells a car and doesn’t disclose major problems. Weighing packs isn’t bad, trying to sell weighed packs as unweighed is bad.

If you are going to open a box like this it should probably be for the experience. If you’re aiming to recoup any money at all just leave it sealed. All or nothing.
Selling weighed packs isn’t going to positively impact your reputation. Putting them into circulation 24 at a time is a bit cancerous for the market don’t you think? I’ll just leave it at that.
