What’s your strategy on buying graded modern cards is it cheaper than raw?
it isn’t but if im already going to spend three figures on a card, i’m happy to spend a bit more to get the condition I want. many cards though I buy on tcgplayer or win at auctions for not much more than raw near mint price, though.
Got it makes sense. Are you usually buying PSA 10’s then I assume?
only 8s and 9s. i’m finding i only do 9s if they’re an ok price compared to recent sold listings, but sadly ebay active prices are +10% by default because folks are still coping with the market lol bonus points if you find a cgc slab because 9s and 9.5s are usually 2/3 or less the cost of psa 9. lol
Feels so weird to see slabs cheaper than “NM” cards.
Hope to post in this thread soon, need to watch some graded slab cracking videos.
I’m way overdue on my Unlimited Base - Neo binder holos, but yesterday I traded in some stuff for this super clean Fossil Gengar 8. Something about acquiring these in person vs. online just hits different
It takes you back to the playground trades of 1999!
This one didn’t last long in the slab. Mint except for a corner bend, can’t see it in a binder. Got for 50% of the PSA 9 that just sold in Scott’s PWCC auction
Art : Value ratio = Maximum
For sure! Once again PSA 6 for me is insane value.
I will try smoothing out the corner, but I am not too concerned about it
Stupid price for a mass produced card that was given out for free…
Personal preference
I enjoy flipping through them and seeing all the cards together on a page, it’s how I’ve collected since childhood.
What grade was yours? Mine was a 6
Mine was a CGC 5.5
Those look great against the white binder page.
