Show Off Your Error Cards Megathread!

This is called a Pinched Layer Error.

Sometimes, when the holofoil is being laminated onto the cardboard stock, a small wrinkle can form where the holofoil bunches up.

CGC Cards is the first third-party grading service to authenticate and grade major errors within the trading cards market, with the aid of advanced forensic technology.

I wouldn’t lead with that for a bit if I were CGC

What about packaging mistakes like Ancient Mews (2000) sealed but only Mew card in it or 4 cards (2 Mews+2 description cards) or 3 cards (2 Mews+1 description card). I have some of each.

Finally broke down and picked up a copy of the iconic Brblrlikarp

Just found this guy in a collection I bought! Never seen a card this off center, but really only on the back.

Would PSA grade this as OC? I’ve always wanted an OC PSA card lol

Finally was able to add a vintage WOTC error to my Porygon error collection.

Bad conditions but it adds flavour to the error thing ahahahah

Nice one, they’re known as ‘misaligned back’ errors. I dont think PSA recognises it, but they might give it the MC(miscut) grade

The other day I was going through my wotc bulk and I found this geodude that looks very well loved (emphasis on very), I have no idea where I got it, but I know that it’s not supposed to have that grey border on the back, I tried looking it up but couldn’t find any sources for border misprints. If you look closely it’s only grey along the border so I don’t know how it got gray like that, if anyone has information on why this happened, and what part of the printing process that would help settle my curious mind.

I have decided it’s not from external factors and just to make sure it’s not tape I have started taping other fossil cards with different tapes to see if they change at all. (It’s to late for them I can’t save them all I can do is keep the experiment going)

Lugia V 138 from Silver Tempest. The back of this Lugia has what appears to be an inverted, glossy imprint/outline of the “V” symbol from the top left of the card.

The “V” and inverted “V”

The inverted “V” imprint

I read this glossy outline may be left on the backs of cards when a new sheet of cards is stacked on the previous sheet that hadn’t fully dried.

Not really cool or interesting, but found these when î was a sorting bulk.

Pulled these from a booster pack of VV. No damage or dings. No tears. Looks like scratches but they aren’t. Best way to describe it is there’s not enough ink and it makes it look like scratches.

Neat! I’ve seen quite a few of these on all different modern cards. Was curious if it affected the grade but it looks like it doesn’t. Very cool!

Soul leaving body texture shift Ghostpoke :ghost:

When I saw these errors start popping up in Prismatic Evolutions, I knew I needed a Slowpoke like this. Every time I found one though, the person wasn’t selling. Finally I saw this amazing card on Reddit, and the seller happened to be a Cubone collector — they appreciated my Slowpoke collection and agreed to sell it to me! :sparkling_heart:

Wow, this is a amazing error card. It really looks like Slowpoke is so calm and in a deep sleep that it is having an outer body experience. Congratulations on getting the card and thanks for sharing.

Cheers!

Picked up this very OC Raichu recently. Even just about has the alignment dot on the bottom right corner.

This photo is crystal clear even if it doesn’t look like it.
An example of a print misalignment in the production process.
