Show Off Your Error Cards Megathread!

I have a similar card. They’re on the incomplete holo error spectrum. But because the background colors are so light and because so little ink is printed on the foil sheet, it can never really achieve a true error appearance.

PS: I’ve only ever found incomplete holo errors (shimmer/sparkle errors) in Jungle Unlimited, but not Jungle 1st Ed.

Ah, thanks so much for that! I was torn on whether it was worth popping it in the grading pile - think I will now!

That’s an interesting point about 1st ed/Unlimited, I’ve never seen these types of holo error on a 1st ed copy either, now you mention it!

The light holos are difficult to discern, but they look noticeably different in person.

The most obvious copy that I have from Jungle Unlimited is a Jolteon.

Yeah, it was only when I held the Wigglytuff in more direct light again after reading your post, that I really saw the difference.

That Jolteon is a beauty! Shame they all aren’t so easy to spot at first glance.

The only low shine slab I have, is my old battered Shadowless Zard. It’s a very minor example, but there isn’t a lot of shine going on from most angles.

That’s beautiful :heart_eyes_cat:

Thought my eyes were going funny, but no, the art on this Pokémon Breeder Fields I bought yesterday is slightly misaligned - most obvious with the lady feeding the Sunflora in the back.

Just pulled a Charizard ex with a pinched layer.

A couple cool Hitmonchans of mine, low black ink and extra yellow ink.

Hey, is it normal for your hitmonchan to have a lack of holo (it has the stars, but not the holofoil like the other ones.

Whats crazier is it has the 7/102 and everything.

Big old white dot

Not quite sure without a picture, but sounds like you may have a fake card on your hands. The star pattern (often called galaxy pattern) is a part of the holofoil; you won’t have stars without holo. There have been a few instances of missing holo layer errors for WotC holos, but if you’re seeing the star pattern I’d guess it’s fake. Hope this helps.

While we’re on Base Set Hitmonchan, I think this one is a low sparkle holo.

Very happy to pick this up, you don’t often see too many old back holo shifts!
