Found this error card, and IDK anything about its current acknowledged status… Just thought it was cool.
I noticed that Groudon had a kyogre-shaped void in the holo layer behind him. The relevant Kyogre card is shown for comparison.
Neat!
That’s pretty cool! It seems like there’s a fair number of the error cards up on Ebay right now, so it seems like it had a decent-sized “print run.”
The vice-versa variant is also available: Kyogre with Groudon holofoil. I got both errors in my collection, but it’s indeed a pretty common one to find.
Greetz,
Quuador
Indeed!
I have a new target for my Arita collection… Gotta have both, of course.
@stagecoach was kind enough to secure this Scarlet & Violet - 151 Gloom on my behalf. It appears to have been printed either on incredibly low magenta ink, or without its magenta layer entirely! I do not usually collect error cards, but thought this one was interesting enough (and of an illustrator I collect) to pick up. I might pick up a couple of different Sekio-illustrated error cards to represent some of the different kinds of printing errors that can occur.
Edit: stagecoach requested me to include the following comment:
I will acquiesce to his demand, but point out that Gloom’s body retains its regular coloration and also that I am red-green colorblind. I have reported this incident of vicious bullying and discrimination to the relevant authorities.
I mean, it’s not exact. They’re just similar. Maybe you shouldn’t believe everyone someone tells you about Pokémon. And you call yourself a Pokémon researcher?
I bet you think Slugma burns hotter than the sun too.
Actually, that would be Magcargo, not Slugma, as is clearly demonstrated in this colaborative scientific experiment by TerminalMontage (03:23, Loud Sound Warning) and Lockstin & Gnoggin (13:09):
I think my favorite nerd moment is that wailord is lighter than air because the dev team never actually figured out what it’s weight ought to be.
Yes, those look like roller marks from the printer. I’ve usually seen it referred to as factory damage rather than as a misprint.
Worth sending to CGC?
For a personal collection, maybe. I don’t think CGC will label it as a misprint and it’s probably not worth a whole lot.
AGH! I’ve been scouring Ebay for a scizor with additional white ink or insufficient ink. Shocker always seems to find them first lol
It has come to my attention that @Quuador is flexing their missing cyan Yuka Morii Snom on Reddit. The withholding of this card from my possession is undoubtedly some kind of crime against me, and I am currently looking into my legal options.
