Sending cards to PSA from Canada

Hey everyone,
Noob question here. Just sent in my first set of Base 1st edition cards to PSA for grading. I’m in Canada. Just wondering from others in my country if you had any issues with the graded cards come back across the border? I put a declared value of $5000 on the cards. Do they only charge duty on the services paid for or value of the cards?

ill let you know, mine are on the way back now, just going through customs so I’m interested myself.

They’re marked as returned goods, specifically;

“Sports Appraisal Return”

So it’ll depend on each countries individual importing policy. You could argue with customs that these are items you owned previously and effectively have paid tax in already. Whether your customs would listen to that is completely dependent on their policy.

From my past submissions it has been hit or miss when it comes to being charged by customs fees. I think it just depends on who is looking at the package at the time. However as @ozenigma stated you can fill out a dispute form if charged by customs.

It is located on the back of the customs form that is attached to your returned package. Fill it out, and include your original shipping receipt along with the return shipping tracking information and mail it all to the address provided on the dispute form.
I have performed this process a few times when getting hit with customs and they only declined my refund on one occasion.

Unfortunately the process takes about 6 months to completely resolve. Better late than never if you get your money back though in my opinion!

Best of luck with the grades!

I’d recommend you go through our sites service, smpratte. He gets the best grades of anybody in the world plus he’ll work with you on your return mailer;)
