I gonna ask a bold question in here.

Personally, I try to list my own auctions to end at noon in Los Angeles. This way the auctions end between 19:00 and 22:00 CEST, and between 12:00 and 1:00 PM PDT. Giving the best time zone coverage. EST bidders able to bid in early morning, Europeans able to bid after work and PDT during their lunch break.

Is this timing ideal? Or anyone has a better suggestion?

I don’t think it’s worth catering to US times if you’re located in Europe. A lot of people do not want to buy from international sellers because of shipping cost, import fees etc etc. ; It may be worth catering to US if you’re selling a highly sought after card with a decent pricetag attached to it. I noticed that most of my buyers are from Europe anyway, even if it concerns cards that would have US appeal. (BIN’s)

I just try to spread my market. And it’s a 50/50 split on my sells. So really cannot say I sell more in Europe or more in the US.

With auctions, I normally try to have the ending time around 10am EST. This would appeal more to International buyers as EU time would be around 3-4pm. Also, I do Auctions only Fridays, as this gives me enough time after work to jump straight into packing the orders as many pay as soon as listings end. I do want to try to spread them apart a bit as it may yield better prices on cards. Besides, its Friday, have the buyers spend their money before they go out to party on the weekend .

Consider shipping international, your auctions would of greatly been boosted (even if an international bidder didnt win). Even if you dont want to ship international at the very least implement the global shipping program to your listings.

International makes a difference for sure. One example that jumps to mind was two 1st ed jungle boxes I was watching the other month that finished within a day of each other, one was perfect condition USA only and the other had a big tear in the plastic but was open to international bidders through global shipping. The international one in worse condition that sold a day later sold for $200 more to an Aussie buyer.

I see it happen a lot with auctions, the ones open to international bidders regularly sell higher for all the auctions I’ve watched in the past couple of months. More people bidding and pushing the price up is a good thing.

Us Aussies are basically free money for sellers who actually allow internatiobal postage. SMH at non international postage listings.

MATE it’s so annoying when you search and you find one listing and the seller is the worst person for communication as they don’t even respond after an initial reply.

I’ve had this happen, you can do second chance offers to the second winner but then they backed out and i was like, come on people…don’t bid if you don’t want xD

Totally, its a waste of the sellers time and a listing gone down the drain. I kind of get Non-Paying bidders every time I have auctions up. Disappoints eBay won’t do anything about it until a few times they have done it smh.

Dang, that sucks… I have been caught in bidding wars a few times myself, and then ending up winning it for too high by mistake. But then I knew it was my own mistake and just paid the seller.
Not paying after you’ve won it with the highest bid is just not done. It’s your own stupid fault for bidding that high in the first place… Just suck it up, pay for it, and enjoy it (or not).
