BIN is better in certain scenarios. Auction is best for bulk or cards which aren’t strong cards individually. Its also good for high end cards.
A friend of mine, while not into cards, has sold over 4000 things on eBay (private) and told me that Sunday Evenings are always the time when it went best. I’ve only sold a small amount of things, but I feel like the activity on Sunday Evening is a lot higher than any other day/time.

Maybe you guys can tell me what I did wrong? I have a few ideas of things that I need to improve/change, such as:
-don’t make the listing private
-low seller feedback
-better pictures (reflections on the pikachu/shining tyranitar are especially bad)
Market value for these cards is roughly ~8k, and the auctions ended at 5k total. Super disappointed, but if I can use it as a learning experience for the next auction then it won’t be so bad. Thoughts?
Also, I’ve had the most success with Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings ending 6:00pm to 7:00pm PST.
Staggering your closing times is critical. Minimum 3-5 minutes apart.

Oh that’s you? Your feedback isn’t very reassuring but I was going to bid that crystal celebi regardless so I don’t think it’s that. Your psa cards did pretty well. I bet your ungraded cards performed poorly because played cards aren’t really worth competing over like that. Seems BINs are the way to go for that kind of stuff.
I didn’t think of staggering, thanks for that suggestion! Should I have higher price cards ending first/last/or doesn’t matter? For all my future listings I’ll be changing handling time to same day and will experiment with free shipping as well.
I’ve been trending away from Sunday closes with Football, GoT & Walking Dead having such an attention pull.
So are Friday and Saturday nights the only no-go, assuming high-end Pokemon card collectors have such vibrant social lives?
I was actually biding on your listings. I would’ve paid a bit more than what the shinings and gold star vaporeon went for but you had everything end at the same time I couldn’t bid on all of them. I could only afford 1 of your items and was afraid to throw out my max on all the items since I don’t want unpaid item cases just in case I somehow won multiple items. So I chose to bid on the charizard since it’s my fav and let the others go, now I wish I hadn’t lol.

Consider shipping international, your auctions would of greatly been boosted (even if an international bidder didnt win). Even if you dont want to ship international at the very least implement the global shipping program to your listings.
International makes a difference for sure. One example that jumps to mind was two 1st ed jungle boxes I was watching the other month that finished within a day of each other, one was perfect condition USA only and the other had a big tear in the plastic but was open to international bidders through global shipping. The international one in worse condition that sold a day later sold for $200 more to an Aussie buyer.
I see it happen a lot with auctions, the ones open to international bidders regularly sell higher for all the auctions I’ve watched in the past couple of months. More people bidding and pushing the price up is a good thing.
I think you’re forgetting a key word in your listings…
“Pokemon”
Everyday I search “pokemon psa” and comb though the new listings and watch the ones I’m interested in. Your items would not appear in this search.
Also, take a look at your kabutops:

Searches for “1st” or “edition” will not show your item. Ebay search is very meticulous about typos.
EDIT:
and as mentioned, having them all end at the same time (especially such nice heavy-hitting items) does not give people a chance to snipe and boost the price in the final moments. I think that had a big effect here too.

Sold listings are showing as empty to me, not sure why, but if the above is correct and you failed to put ‘pokemon’ in the title, you’re losing a lot of views
also you have to leave x amount of time between listings ending, you’re forcing most people to choose one item they want,
you’re not allowing them to bid up an item that they wanted, lose that auction, and then bid up another item, its all about getting more people bidding and possibly creating bid wars and believe it or not if people see more people bidding and that the item is in demand they will often go above their max bid, I’ve done it plenty of times myself lol
If you’re not from the US you’ll need to use a US proxy to see the listings because they weren’t available to international buyers, use this and change the country to USA if you don’t have a VPN to do it with hide.me/en/proxy

Good eye pfm, Yes, Pokemon HAS to be in the title and international shipping is a must.
Being Canadian is a bit annoying, I see deals on US only sales all the time. You’re really hurting your bottom line, there are a ton of buyers from Canada, Europe and Australia. The booster box example Pierce gave is quite accurate.
I think you will do way better next time. I also have a few cards I want to sell and although I have 88 feedback, I have 1 legit ebay sale so I’m a bit hesitant. I’m considering sending everything that isn’t part of my collection to pwcc at some point. You’re guaranteed market value and they don’t charge you an arm and a leg like brick and mortar auction houses.

There’s even one or two dozen in the U.K. Or are they still in Europe hihi.
