Seized By Law Enforcement??

Hi all -

I sent an overnight package to someone for some base set booster packs…and I looked up the tracking today and the latest says “Seized by Law Enforcement”…anybody have any clue what that means or what I have to do? I google it and it just talks about people shipping drugs…

I’m guessing the box will be opened if it’s USPS. It is very easy for USPS to get a warrant because they have their own law enforcement division. False alarm on their end. At the airport where they load mail/packages, they have dogs trained for narcotics and bombs. Maybe there was a package with contraband close to yours and a dog hit on yours by mistake? I hope they don’t open the boosters… best of luck.

P.s. did you put a return address on this? How did you package/ship the boosters? This problem should work itself out once they see the content.

Boosters were all bubble wrapped and secured very nicely. And yes a return address and everything. Took an hour and a half to talk to someone and even though USPS says to call that number, they said I have to call another number, which doesn’t open till Monday. So I paid almost $50 to overnight something and will be held up for almost a week…best case scenario. I’ve read horror stories where USPS can just seize your stuff and you never get it back. Very frustrated. It was over $1000 worth of packs.

Well just hope they don’t open them all up…

I don’t know if this helps, but if you carry Pokemon cards on a plane and leave them in a suitcase through security, 9/10 times you will be singled out as possibly carrying drugs. Supposedly they somehow look very similar to drugs if tightly packed. People who fly out to competitive pokemon events who don’t know better than to take out their cards ahead of time and let security know they are carrying pokemon cards get stopped otherwise.

@jcincy101 Best of luck on this. Sorry this happened. Please post what the final outcome is.

Maybe this is just America with those law enforcement who are obsessive in airports.

I’ve never been flagged for carrying cards in a lugagge haha.

What do you call those guys ? Tsa ? South Park taught me;

Wow. And I thought getting an erroneous parking ticket today from a meter maid who didn’t give a shit to scan my license plate to see that I had paid for the spot was a pain. Hope it works out–keep us updated on how it goes.

And I received an enveloped resealed by Homeland Security.

I still have the tape.

Those packs are doomed. And there’s probably zero chance of getting your money back.

Hope not, seems criminal if so. So what if they think a $50,000 Base 1st ed box is bad and seize it? Or a $100,000 trophy card? Can’t just take shit

Actually in the US you can.

You don’t charge the person with wrongdoing, you charge the goods essentially in an instance like this. It allows for easier fighting of the drug trade, but other things get seized too (in the terms of billions). You’ll have to reach out to have any prayer of getting this stuff back

Well that’s a load of BS

A guy in Australia had his fossil booster box opened as the police or whoever did a search on it

This thread is getting more depressing by the post. I just want to wish OP best of luck and let’s hope everything will work itself out and you only have a delayed shipment (and even that’s not a great outcome considering you paid extra to overnight it).

Hope this works out, keep us posted!

are you sure you didn’t send a different sort of “booster” in the mail?

but seriously why have they seized them? I can’t think of any logical reason. did you snort a line off of them beforehand?

Never done a drug in my life! I’m about to send in a big order to PSA and now I’m paranoid may try Fedex instead (don’t know if that would even make a difference). I’m calling them Monday to see what happened.

Great job on staying clean. If you are concerned, I recommend using usps or ups GROUND. Ground services don’t have the high security the airports have.
