Scam listings from eBay sellers with strong feedback

Hi everyone - i’m fairly new so my apologies if this has been discussed in depth already - i did search around prior. What i’ve noticed pop up occasionally are sellers (typically based in Europe and with over 500 positive feedback) posting 1st Ed Charizards (and i’m sure other cards - this is just what i’ve been searching for) at “too good to be true” prices. The cards, however, are showing that they’re located somewhere in the U.S, and the seller’s feedback is all for unrelated items and in their native language.

Now, upon immediate sight of a seller with no/negative feedback, this would be an obvious red flag. But with it being from an established seller, I would think it can throw people off without extra due diligence. Am I right to suspect that, in this case, the seller’s account is likely hacked and that the hacker is listing things like this hoping for a big win? Here’s the current example in question:

Just wanted to call this out and see if it’s a somewhat recurring thing. Thanks in advance.

Sometimes these are old accounts that have their data stolen / “hacked”, you’ll see the gap in feedback where the last positive is a few months ago and in completely different categories. The worst I’ve seen is a store with 100k + positive feedback. Maybe this store also had their info stolen, like they fell victim to a spam mail.
Always a good idea to google image search to see if they stole item pics, if they sell items all with different backgrounds / photo styles, if they sell lots of expensive items all at once in different categories and to see if the deals are just too good to be true.

It’s very common but if you report the listings eBay do usually sort it out

Its been going on for months, high feedback accounts getting hacked and listing high end items. Most of the time they also add in the description to contact them over mail so you can buy it outside of ebay
