So I’m planning on reholdering quite a few cards (all PSA 10’s) to the newer slabs with the holo label and i’ve come across this on my Base Venusaur. Would this be a reason for it to downgrade or will PSA retain the score?
For the reholder service, I think PSA will only review the card if the case has some serious damage and there’s a risk that the card has been damaged as well (like a crack over the card).
This is what I got from PSA yesterday when I was curious about reholding also -
Yes, We do offer reholder service. For our base price we offer $8 per item if the maximum declared value is no higher than $4,999.
For more prices I’ve added a link to our website. PSAcard.com/pricing
Please keep in mind, the cardholder is reviewed before reholdering. If our team finds significant damage on the card holder over the card, it will be reviewed to ensure no damage has occurred to the card. The item will be reviewed again and possibly graded at a lower graded. When submitting your item, your signature will be required too authorize this, so if card is needed to be reviewed we have your authorization.
It looks like they only review if they find significant damages on the card holder itself so think you’ll be good.
Bear in mind it’s possible that PSA could damage the card cracking and reholdering it. Unless the case is damaged I see no point in doing the service especially because a new holder will still have the old serial with a new label which always looks weird to me. The new labels started late 26 million for Pokemon cards.
@pikazardcollector, Yeah, they’re not damaged at all. It’s just I would like a consistancy between all my cases. I will do it one day that’s for sure. Just wanted to get some insight.
