PSA Reholdering retaining the same grade

Hey I am just wondering if it is guaranteed that PSA will reholder a 10 in the old case to a 10 in the new cases. I have a card with damage to the bottom right corner of the case but nothing which is damaged over/behind the card so the damage doesn’t seem to pose any sort of threat to the card. However, I have noticed that the card shifts up and down in the case a little bit and has a few specs of white along the bottom probably from this movement, and am curious if this will result in them downgrading the card during the reholder process. I understand lowering a grade if the damaged case also resulted in a damaged card but this doesn’t seem to be the case here.

Some whitening on the bottom middle and edge.

Case damage, not reaching the card area.

Yeah that looks like an 8/9 bottom edge lol.

But rest assured, PSA is not trying to pay you extra money, they’ll leave it as is

Neither the grade or cert will change, but the label will be updated to a more modern one

Yeah agreed haha. I dont mind much since its not something I have any desire to sell, just sad it got damaged from shaking in the case over the years.

Great thanks! I had seen some conflicting info that they review the cards but maybe its reserved for cards that had damaged cases around the card themselves…

Card wasn’t damaged from moving in the case, that’s normal.

Card was just a crusty card that PSA graded 10. They saw it like that and gave it a 10. It happens a lot.

EDIT: Looked at the photo and it’s not even really that crusty. I’m not surprised PSA gave it a 10

The only time PSA regrades a card during reholdering is when the damage is over the face of the card. If the damage is just on the edges on the case they just throw it into a new case
