Regarding: JPN reverse holos + 1st ed and unlimited (pre-s&m)

Hello.

  1. Regarding: reverse holos pre-sun & moon. Are reverse holos limited to L1, L2, and L3? And does every card have a reverse holo? If not, is there a Japanese resource showing all variations?
  2. Regard: 1st edition and unlimited. Do all cards marked 1st edition have unlimited versions too, or are there exceptions? Do both 1st editions and unlimited also have reverse holos? And my understanding is there are few exceptions to cards not having either: promos, cards from 20th anniversary, certain CP collections (like CP4).

Can anyone help? I’m really looking for a resource outlining all card variations in Japanese. Thanks.

No, it depends on the set. If you go to the ā€œlanguages this set released inā€ part of the respective Bulbapedia article it will be noted whether an unlimited print run exists or not. Alternatively, you can find an overview of all sets in this topic.

I believe the constructed deck L2 cards are still marked as being in ā€˜L2’ despite not coming from the same packs, and those cards do not have reverse holos. An example being the Houndoom Prime from the deck has no reverse holo, but the #044 Tyranitar Prime from the actual set does have a reverse holo

Yeah, I’ve seen the other languages on bulbapedia but it’s not always been helpful. Seems most sites only indicate holo versions, not reverse. So that other topic link helps a LOT! Thank you and @Quuador!

It’s a relief for a lot of cards I’ve hunted since I assumed the 1st ed indicated unlimited too. I’m surprised so many other non-japanese got reverse holos.

Another question with ā€œJapanese 1st edition (code-set four) (Japanese Commons have four different codes; Uncommons two different codes; everything else just a single code)ā€. I assume that’s referring to the SKU-like identifier on some cards at the bottom. Do people consider the collecting different codes on cards as required for a master set? Or is that too extreme?

Thanks
