I recently bought something (not Pokemon-related) off eBay for $672.27. The seller had over 400 feedback, 100% positive. However, I guess he decided to go out with a bang, because he claimed the item was stolen and that he did not have the money to refund. Looking at his feedback now, it looks like he pulled this stunt on several people at the same time.
I had to go through eBay to get my money back, which I finally received. However, the amount I got back is indicated as $672.27 in PayPal but as only $659.02 on my Chase card that I used to pay. I’m not sure who ate the difference–PayPal or Chase–but it seems pretty inequitable that somebody can scam me yet I end up out of pocket for a portion of the expenses. Has anybody else had this experience? Is there anything I can do, or am I just out of luck?
