Hey guys–looking for some members who might have had experience with re-colors for PSA. I did not wind up submitting this with my last sub at PSA because it looks so much like a recolor to me. I had gotten this in a collection a while back, never noticed until scanning before submission, so had no way of asking the seller. Anyhow, what struck me was that if it is a purposeful recolor… it is such a pathetic attempt that I’m not even sure PSA would flag it as one. Part of me thought it is somehow possible it is color ink runoff from the stock blue, but part of me (most actually) thinks it is just that bad of an attempt to color in the whitening with, what… blue highlighter marker? Geez. Any insight, opinions, or statements would be appreciated and helpful. If I have clearer conviction, I will never submit, and sell one day raw with the disclaimer that it is likely recolored and should never be graded without shaving it off! Thanks everyone.
And for reference… here is the front. Might help to know it is 1st base, and that the front is completely unaffected by any traces of color, alteration, damage pertaining to the back, etc. Probably would grade as a 6, maybe 5 if this were not recolor, and obviously worth grading.
