So I’m in the middle of collecting the Rocket set and I won one of the three Here Comes Team Rocketthey had in this block, but little did I know the case itself is broken. There is no mention of this in the listing, but the scan does show the damage. eBay listing
At first glance its hard to tell, but you’d think they would mention this in the listing. What would be the best way to approach this with the seller and has anyone come across this before with PWCC? At the cost to recase I would be better off just buying a new one.
Message them with your concerns and see how they reply. Nobody here can really tell you anything helpful or make the decision for you. If they are open to a return no questions asked then there really isn’t a moral dilemma.
If they aren’t, then you yourself can figure out how far you want to take it. As both a large time seller and buyer, if I were the seller I would have not noticed the issue if I didn’t call it out and I would be annoyed by someone forcing a return on me for what is photographed, and as a buyer I would chalk it up as my fault and my loss and just eat it. 20 bucks is a cheap lesson.
If I was on speaking terms with Brent I would message him, tell him the story, and say “I know you’re the most experienced seller on eBay so please let me know what you recommend in these type matters.” Include a clear picture of the damage.
Then see how he replies and post it here.
I feel like I’ll just take the “loss” and mention it too them. I don’t feel like they are in the wrong, but it definitely could have been clearer. Maybe with the sheer amount of volume they pump stuff out that wouldn’t be plausible.
Don’t take the loss.
Yes. They ARE in the wrong.
It surely should have been clearer.
High volume is no excuse for not stating the case was cracked. That is deceitful in my book.
That was most-likely an oversight with PWCC. The sheer volume of PSA Slabs that goes through their facility every month is INSANE! My eBay Business is probably 1% of their eBay Business; yet I still make mistakes / over-look certain cards every now and then. Granted, it’s usually a rare occasion, but it does happen every once in awhile. Personally, I would not blame them for over-looking that damage. If that damage was noticed along the line, I am sure (at least hopeful) that they would mention something within the eBay Listing.
However, with that being said, they should still be held accountable without any negative result to OP (Buyer). Despite the cost only being Sub-$20.00, I would send them an eBay Message asking for a Return. I’m sure they’ll accept a return if you explain why you’re looking to return the card and provide them with a few pictures of the damage. It’s pretty straight-forward… Personally, I would never block anyone for requesting to return something like this - and I am pretty-sure they wouldn’t either.
