Most of these cards are a 6 or 7 out of 10 to me. Just not really a fan.

I completely agree. I dont really like Fukuda’s style. Where pokemon need to be mad and angry and fighting. Entei was a nice surprise for me, I have never really looked at that art, but I actually quite enjoyed it. The rayquaza is of course amazing, and the mewtwo imo is Fukuda done right. Most of the other cards are actually quite lackluster unfortunately.

my terrible unpopular opinion: greninja gold star is a dogshit card. idk why so many people loved it when celebrations was released. in hand, the card looks & feels nothing like an actual gold star.

champion’s path etb promo & crown zenith etb promos were much better promos.

I think I was rather lenient. I’d say anything I ranked 8+ would be something I wouldn’t mind owning if they were all affordable lol. (11 of 28)

I just rated them on how appealing the art, posing & background are as a whole.

Most got an 8, since they’re all still nice cards, but I deducted some points for awkward posing/proportions (looking at you especially, Treecko & Celebi), while I bumped up the ones with actual drawn backgrounds (Latias, Flareon & Entei), instead of generic colours and patterns behind the Pokémon.

There might be some buggy stuff going on; I mis-clicked on Pikachu, and when I adjusted my vote the count went up again. I think it counted my erroneous vote and my corrected vote as separate votes, instead of disregarding and replacing that initial vote…

As a mod who can see the votes, it’s funny how I vote 10 for some cards and the average is very low; and then I vote low for a card and the average is way higher than those I voted 10 for…

My unpopular opinion: Greninja gold star is an incredible card and the only reason people don’t like it is because it’s cheap. If it were released as a hard-to-pull set card or limited Japanese promo, people would consider it one of the greatest gold stars.
