My Mitsuhiro Arita autographed Pikachu set has arrived! Amazing to have a full 7 out of 7 set of all languages of the XY Evolutions Pikachu (and an additional English Theme Deck Pikachu), all autographed by the man himself.

Thanks a lot @hazard24 for providing this service! (PS: Did you perhaps make a photo when he was signing my Pikachus?)

Great selection, for pics you have to ask to Marco via Facebook, he was handling the service “signature by mail”.

If you can show it in the Articles and Guide section (Mitsuhiro Arita experience) would be great

Thanks. Marco was able to send me the photo:

I’ll also add this post to your article.

*starts bad singing* The sun is shining. I feel good.

I guess Pikachu forgot it’s sun-block… :slightly_smiling_face:

  • Middle one is a regular colored Pikachu. The two at the top left are the ‘Albino border’ and ‘sun-bleached’ Pikachus I’ve showed before (which are also present in my Base Pikachu artwork variations article).
  • The complete Pikachu World Collection 2000 I bought from @wocasia12 . Thanks again.
  • And the Flying Pikachu with Plane at the mid-left arrived today.

And it so happened that the sun did indeed shine today and it was around 15 degrees Celcius! A lot better than the 5-10 degrees we had lately here in The Netherlands. (Unfortunately it’s going to rain this entire weekend again… :unamused: )

Although I usually don’t buy fakes, unless they are very cheap Pikachus, I couldn’t resist getting these when I saw them. Complete Eeveelutions Pikachu cosplay, and an additional Blastoise cosplay (love the big Blastoise head  ) and Ancient Mew styled Pikachu.

Made by @cardsbyalex on Instagram.

I can’t help but giggle at the blastoise one! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hehe, exactly the same reaction I had, and the reason I’ve bought it along with the Eeveelutions and Ancient Mew that I originally wanted to purchase.

Pikachu autographed by Veronica Taylor, the voice-actress of Ash in the first eight seasons of the English anime.

The seller said it was signed somewhere between 10 and 15 years ago in Australia, but it’s in Gem-Mint condition both at the front and back. Very glad to won this in an auction.

I was thinking about seeing if I could get some cards signed at her Wisconsin Regionals appearance!

A very special addition again, which arrived today:

The 102/DP-P Pokémon Center promo (still sealed).

This card is part of a set of five, here is an image for the entire set from my collection:

So, a little backstory:

These cards were only available in five of Japan’s Pokémon Centers between June 16th, 2008 and July 31st, 2008 until the supplies ran out:

  • 098: Tokyo’s Pokémon Center (8,945,000 residents in 2010)
  • 099: Yokohama’s Pokémon Center (3,689,000 residents in 2010)
  • 100: Osaka’s Pokémon Center (2,665,000 residents in 2010)
  • 101: Nagoya’s Pokémon Center (2,264,000 residents in 2010)
  • 102: Fukuoka’s Pokémon Center (1,464,000 residents in 2010)

I myself didn’t collect during that year, but I estimate that after the first craze, these would all five be worth less than 30 USD in the upcoming few years. Now, 9 years later, I’ve seen the following prices / availability (although I haven’t searched for these cards in particular after I got them, I do look for “Pikachu card” on a daily basis on eBay and Yahoo Japan so I come across them sometimes):

  • 98: Usually around 25-50 USD. I’ve seen 3-5 for sale these past 1.5 years on eBay.
  • 99: Usually around 5-25 USD. This one you see pretty often. I’ve probably seen 5-10 for sale on eBay these past 1.5 years, but about 1-3 pop up every month on Yahoo Japan these past 7 months since I discovered YJ and Noppin (surprisingly enough there are currently none for sale… :unamused: ).
  • 100: Usually around 15-30 USD. I’ve seen 5-10 for sale these past 1.5 years on eBay.
  • 101: About the same as the 98.
  • 102: I’ve seen none for sale this past 1.5 years, except for one a couple of weeks ago. The auction for that one is still live: Sealed 5/5 set for 1250 USD. I contacted the seller if he was willing to sell the 102 separately, but unfortunately he was asking 800 USD, a bit above my budget for this card. In his description he also mentions the following:

It also came to my attention that Scott (@smpratte ) has the complete set in PSA10 (including 102/DP-P) returning from PSA as we speak. He was more than willing to break his set for that same 800 USD price-point, even for the PSA10 version of the 102/DP-P. Personally I estimate the value of this card around 200-600 USD, which is a very large margin and it’s basically equal to the following: “I honestly don’t know; there are too few of these sold to estimate its current value.”
Well, I’m glad to say that even though these so rarely pop up for sale, I’ve got one now. I’ve been contacted by someone on reddit where I left a similar post as my Pikachu wanted list on E4 with the stated price of 300 USD.

Glad to have this set complete, and once again I’m one step closer to a complete Pikachu collection. After the arrival of a few more incoming cards, there are ‘just’ 72 out of the 810 existing Pikachus left to find.

Hi Kevin,

I have been following your thread for quite some time and I must say I’m impressed.
I am a Pikachu card collector myself from Belgium.
Currently I’m at 512 different cards with 53 cards incoming.

Welcome to the forum! And thanks. When I first joined the forum I had around 200-250 Pikachus myself and was very impressed by Justin’s collection (who had 500-550 at the time). It’s cool to see I impress/inspire others.

And 512 unique cards with over 50 incoming is a lot as well! Feel free to make your own collection thread in this sub-forum and display some of your highlights. Or make a post in the Welcome-thread to introduce yourself. I’m interested to see if you have any Pikachus in your collection I don’t have yet (just out of curiosity of course, I won’t try to buy them for you - unless you want to, then I won’t complain  ).

Again, welcome to the forum, and good luck with your collection(s).

My order from my Brazilian contact has arrived! YAY!
A little backstory for anyone first reading: I live in The Netherlands (Europe), and am able to find most cards that are available in Europe to some extend (i.e. Dutch, German, French, Italian, Spanish). English and Japanese are also fairly easy to find. Korean, Chinese, and Polish are pretty hard, but it’s kinda to expected. Russian used to be hard, but thanks to an amazing contact I’ve been able to complete all Russian Pikachus.
But Portuguese was a pain for me to find! Some of the earliest cards were released in Portugal, so I was able to find some, but all the new ones are all released in Brazil. Brazil doesn’t have any international webshops for Pokémon, so I had to find someone living in Brazil. I left messages on all kind of forums and Brazilian Facebooks. Eventually someone responded, but he got busy, and then didn’t responded all-together anymore.

Then, a few weeks after I uploaded my 700 Pikachu video on YouTube (also mentioning Portuguese cards are a pain to find, and I’m looking for a Brazilian contact), someone left a comment stating they are also collecting Pikachus (to some extend), and since he lived in Brazil he could perhaps help me. So, we got in contact through Facebook, and I gave him the list of Portuguese Pikachus I was still looking for. Within the first two weeks he had already found 13 of the Pikachus I was missing! :open_mouth:

In the end he was able to find 19 out of the 20 Pikachus I was still missing, and 5 out of the 5 Sevipers I was still missing. Their percentages went from 37% to 97% and from 17% to 100%. The only one I’m still missing now is the 1st edition Jungle Pikachu. He’s truly the best!
We also decided to trade, so I will now prepare his package with all the Jumbo Pikachus he was still missing (we managed to find all of them), as well as a lot of singles of artworks he still needs. He collects Pikachus as one of each artwork - both holo & non-holo - regardless of language, edition, or special releases. A lot more modest then me (which is a lot better for the wallet  ).

So, here are the pictures of the cards I received (and I also received a bunch of random other Portuguese cards / boosters as bonus):

Congratulations!!

Indeed the Portuguese first edition jungle cards are like ghosts  Since we spoke I have been checking the Portuguese second hand market for it, contacted several people and always the same answer comes up “Sorry, only the normal one”… It is hard indeed, even when you speak the language.

I hope you get those remaining 3% soon and you can close that part of your Pikachu collection
