Quuador's Collection - Pikachu V-Union filler and XY Evo Square Cut

I saw that one show up on Facebook, clicked on it so I could tag you and I was happily surprised to see that you had already won it. Congratulations! It’s crazy that this slipped through the QA process for 3 different languages.

German, French, and Italian cards are all printed in a factory in Belgium a.f.a.i.k., but it’s indeed weird this misprint slipped through for all three languages. Probably something corrupted in the Copycat description file itself or something along those lines.

The HGSS set was also printed in English and Spanish, but as far as I know those were printed in the US and Latin American respectively, so I doubt there are Copycat misprints in those two languages. So I’m happy I’ve been able to find the Italian version to complete my trio.

I had send in two Skyridge Pikachu cards (German and Italian) to Yuka Morii after contacting her through Instagram. This tip was given to me by two fellow Pikachu collectors I’m in close contact with. And she also added a free Pachirisu as well.

Oh, and the reason I chose a German and Italian one is because they would be unique. I’d imagine Japanese illustrators mostly sign Japanese and English cards.

Big fan of the fullart trainers, very nice mate

Wow! I didn’t realize it could be that easy to get an artist’s signature! I thought it had to be basically strictly through events or something. Very cool!

Actually, I think this is still true tbh. Not sure if Yuka knows this though, since she posted on her social media (Twitter and alike) that she accepts cards to be send in, like here on Note, so I took my chance.

This is amazing! especially if you can’t to to signing events yourself! So kind of her to do that!

They’ve arrived! The Japanese unlimited edition World Championship Seviper card, and the sealed unlimited edition Pokémon Web booster pack containing Moltres. I’m so happy with both of these, especially the Seviper. I’ve been searching for this card ever since I started collecting Seviper 3.5 years ago, and had never even seen a picture of this unlimited edition card prior to purchasing this. Thanks again for both of them, @jrugenious212.

I still have to find the 1st edition version of the Pokémon Web booster pack to complete my Moltres collection, and there are also still two Indonesian Seviper cards incoming in the mail before I will have 100% completed my Seviper collection. But I’m already so happy to cross of this goal!

I’m not much of a sealed booster collector. And although the Seviper on this booster pack is rather basic, which is why I’ve doubted quite a while whether I really wanted it. I decided to buy it now that the EX Sandstorm packs are still affordable, and considering it’s the only booster pack with a Seviper on it. I’ve recently also bought those non-TCG Seviper cards and sticker which can be seen in a previous post, so I of course had to add the TCG booster pack as well in that case.

In addition, another extended/altered Base Set Pikachu arrived today. This one is from erabbit_ of Instagram. It was her first commission, and she did a pretty good job. The artwork kinda has a depth to it, with the big bush and broken tree at the front, and the trees of the default Pikachu in the back. And she also added a cute Chikorita in a jar sticker.

Super cute update man! Also congrats on the last Seviper and the Web series pack, I imagine it was hard to find and not cheap!

Added another amazing signed Pikachu to my collection, from a fairly new Pokémon illustrator: Ryuta Fuse. Thus far I think he has made roughly 25 artworks for the Sun & Moon and Sword & Shield eras, of which just a single Pikachu: the one from the Sword & Shield set:

Love the little doodle he added. And as you can see by the date, it arrived back very quickly from Japan to me in The Netherlands with just a regular untracked PWE, which was a nice surprise.

This is super cool! Congrats on getting it signed. Especially nice to see one from a lesser known artist.

My Teach/Tryout Set from 2009 arrived a couple of days ago, but I’ve waited until posting this until today, because an auction for some 2011 Teach Set cards was live on eBay (which I unfortunately just lost, so congrats if anyone here won it).
Very happy to now have all four Pikachu Teach Set cards in my collection.

And here a side-by-side of the Pikachu from the 2008 and 2009 Teach Sets to see the color difference:

For those who don’t know what Teach/Tryout Sets are, I can refer to this article I wrote (and which I will update in a bit - EDIT: done).

These two niche cards arrived a couple of days ago, but I was too busy with work to be able to make pictures during the day.
First of is the Chains misprint as Super Rare, which only occurred on some German SOI (Shadow of Infinity) Super/Ultra Rares. Been wanting to add this misprinted rarity to my collection for a while, so happy I got one. I’m still looking for an Ultra Rare version now.

It’s a bit hard to capture on camera, but I tried (here two pictures from someone else’s copy which shows it a lot better):

From what I’ve heard, these chains holofoils were supposed to be on another Trading Card Game entirely that were produced in the same factory, and accidentally ended up on top of these German SOI Super/Ultra Rares. I still haven’t heard or figured out which TCG uses this kind of chains as holofoil though (if anyone knows or has an Ultra Rare with this misprint, lmk).

Another card that arrived is this PCA authenticated ‘STAFF’ French SM112 Ash’s Pikachu from the Vermot 2018 event:

This is just like the LPPCollecting stamped Pikachu and Energy cards or COLLECTOR stamped Charizard an unofficial release. Also, the gold star you see is actually a sticker instead of a stamp (which is kinda lame, ngl, haha :slightly_smiling_face: ). Anyway, the auction only mentioned ‘Vermot 2018 STAFF’, so I had to do a bit of research before purchasing it. According to this thread on a French Pokémon forum, there was an event on December 8th, 2018 in Paris, at the Vermot et Associes auction house. All cards that were auctioned off were graded by PCA, which is a reasonably well-known French grading company founded in 2016, and the event was also sponsored by PCA. According to the small description in the auction, these PCA authenticated Vermot 2018 Ash’s Pikachu cards with star stickers were STAFF cards, given to the organizers of the event.
I’m not sure if all six French Ash’s Pikachu were stickered and authenticated like this or how many were made, but apart from this SM112 I have, there is a SM114 currently on eBay. I’d love to add it to the collection as well, but ~550 USD for an unofficial release like this (especially now that I know it’s a sticker) is a nty even for me.
If anyone has any more info on these, or has seen any of the other three Ash’s Pikachu like this, lmk. (Oh, and thanks for letting me know these exist @poketrade .)

That’s nuts that the chain effect wasn’t intended for those cards, it looks great. That staff ‘stamp’ on the other hand is maybe the most ghetto, ridiculous thing i’ve seen

My package from Indonesia arrived on Monday, so I now officially have all Seviper cards that exist in all languages (132 Seviper cards; 29 other TCG cards featuring Seviper in their artwork; 1 autographed Seviper; 1 sealed Seviper promo; and 5 misprinted Seviper cards).

The package also included all four Pikachu & Zekrom GX cards. I will show ALL Pikachu & Zekrom GX cards as soon as the last incoming Korean Jumbo (and one non-misprinted German) cards have arrived.

And another extended/altered Base Pikachu arrived today as well. This one is made by kkayestudio of Etsy.com. It might look a bit chaotic up close, but from a distant it looks pretty good. And it’s certainly an unique concept with the lightning strikes.

I’ve also decided (given the current market; upcoming Vivid Voltage set with again four Pikachu Ultra/Secret/Hyper Rares; and upcoming 25th anniversary next year) that my Yu-Gi-Oh rarity collection, National Index collection, and these extended/altered Pikachu cards will be put on a hold for now. I do still have a few extended/altered Base Pikachu cards that are being made right now, so those I will still post those once they’ve arrived. But I won’t actively look for other new artists anymore like I used to. I also won’t keep track on new Sword & Shield Pokémon releases for the National Index, nor any new Yu-Gi-Oh rarities (except when I come across the Ultra Rare chains misprint as sole exception).
Since my Seviper collection is now complete; my Moltres WotC #21 collection is only missing the sealed Japanese 1st edition Pokémon Web booster pack; and my FA Supporter collection is complete as well and I just have to keep up with new releases, I can now primarily focus on my Pikachu collection for the upcoming months.
