First, I know this is efour Pokemon Central, but I’m also aware there are some cross franchise collectors here that could probably answer this question pretty quickly. Quicker than it would take for me to create an account to ask a Yu-Gi-Oh! group anyway.
I was going through my PS1 games recently, and I came across the game, Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories (the LE version) that I bought back in the day, complete with the 3 limited edition trading cards included. The cards are Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon, Harpie’s Pet Dragon, and Metalmorph. FMR 001, 002, 003. They have foil lettering and a nice prism effect to the card art. They’ve been sleeved in top loaders since the guy I bought the game from opened the pack and sleeved the cards (still have the empty foil pack they came from, too).
My question is: Is this the only way these 3 specific cards were distributed, as part of this limited video game package? The pop report is fairly low, but I don’t know if this is due to scarcity or not many collectors sending these cards in for grading to PSA. I can’t find much info on them, but there was a recent ebay sale for the 3 cards at PSA 9 that went for 1K. So, they appear to have some value. (I’d show the pics here but haven’t had success listing pics in the past so I gave up on it). I also know from my experience this edition of the game was very challenging for me to track down when I picked it up around 10/15 years ago, but I doubt the current game price reflects the rarity. Would Yu-Gi-Oh! card collectors be interested in having the game as well you think if they purchased the cards, or not so much? I want to consider this in case I decide to sell the cards and separate the items. Any other insights would also be very much welcomed and appreciated. Thanks all
