shiny snorlax is so underwhelming!! shiny raikou for some reason does not bother me though, despite only being a minor change

Poliwrath was so beautiful…

Agreed Poliwrath does not get enough love. Such a clean, classic design.

Totally agree shiny Snorlax is way too subtle. Funny how shiny Raikou gets a pass even with a small change though.

I’m sure we have had this talk before. But, anyhow, pretty much a vast swathe of scarlet and violet pokemon are just the same. The worst pokemon I’ve ever seen for a shiny is maushold.

Guess which one is base form, guess which one is shiny. Or am I simply posting the base form twice?

i don’t mean any offense with this question but do you ever disagree with anyone lol. all of your comments are quoting and agreeing and restating what someone else said. no one is that agreeable (i would know, i’ve certainly tried)!! the only things i know that are this agreeable are LLMs :eye::mouth::eye:

Let me start with some of my favorite Shiny Pokémon, by quoting this post of 2 years ago, which of itself is a quote of 1.5 year prior.

I don’t think I’ll add any from gen 9 to this list above. Only one I was doubting about is Koraidon, even though I like its non-shiny colors way more:

As for my least favorite shiny Pokémon, it’s basically all Pokémon that barely change in color in their shiny forms.
Pikachu and Raichu for example; Jigglypuff & Wigglytuff; Meowth & Persian; Goldeen & Seaking; Flareon; Snorlax; and Zapdos (I only went over the gen 1 Pokémon this time).
If the difference between the regular version and shiny version is so subtle, you wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference between a shiny variant and the regular variant in the shadows or under a light in a TCG artwork, then it’s honestly a shitty shiny color imho.

So since Lady’s fave mon is TatTar I am how regularly reminded how TERRIBLE TarTars shiny is…

How is that a improvement or something worth hunting for??

These are shinies I actually like. There’s a few others I didn’t post. Like Absol, both Raikou and Siscune have decent shines and if course Ray does too.

Talmonflame I’m up in the air about. I want to like but I’m not sure I Do

I love:

  • Green shinies, because they feel radioactive and truly shiny (Espeon, Mewtwo, Zygarde, etc.).
  • Blue shinies, because they usually differ a lot from the original (Psyduck, Mew, Corsola, Chi-Yu, Rapidash etc.).
  • Pink shinies, for the same reason (Wobbuffet, Heracross, Dragonair, etc.).
  • Black shinies, because they look really badass (Greninja, Rayquaza, Primal Kyogre, etc.).

I hate:

  • Lazy shinies — the ones that keep almost the same colors, just slightly faded (Gengar…).

They semi-made up for Gengar’s boring shiny with his mega form at least!

For Raichu specifically, I think the game Shiny is really disappointing as many pointed out already. I have the Pokémon Soda Pop Plush for Raichu and I’ve just convinced myself this is the shiny color scheme for Raichu.

Big ups on the Luxray!

I’d say my other favourites outside of the other two in my signature sprite party would be Wobbuffet and Miltank, they switched colours, haha.

^ Least favourite, as the shiny star-burst animation was what I needed to realize after the fact that I had encountered one (much like most other “weak” shinies)….try explaining that to 13-year old me though. Of course I knocked it out… Then I went north to the Trainer Tower (this is all in Fire Red of course), met the Twins on the first floor of the Double Mode circuit, saw a green Espeon and felt my stomach drop. Oops!

Luxray is my fave car pokemon (one of the few they didn’t butcher).

I have not found a shiny of it in game yet but I should try fir one in Pokemon Arceus .

I got really lucky with that one I photographed, I caught it and it’s with someone else now. I found it on Route 202 within the first 15-ish minutes of a new Diamond play through during the lockdowns. It’ll happen when you least expect it!!

That’s amazing
The diamond remake? I got that game spent a hour on it and just couldn’t. Took it to a game shop and swapped it for Arceus. I haven’t gone shiny hunting on that game but I have in other.

It was the 2007 North American release for the DS! I cropped my thumb out but you can barely see the Crimson upper half shell of my Lite, haha. So, full odds (estimated 1/8192)!

It’s way easier nowadays to shiny hunt, I played Pokémon GO for like a week but I do recall there being some methods to import ‘mons into the modern mainline games. I think you need to use the HOME cloud storage system. Might be worth a Google, I do recall special shiny events/odds reduction methods for GO but I ultimately could be talking out of turn. I’m sorry if I led you on a wild (Zan)goose chase if so.
