QotD: Whats your favorite mega evolution & why?

I didn’t pay too much attention to Megas during gen 6, however since I bought first Sun & Moon games I’ve liked Mega Kangaskhan. Great ability and synergy goes well together with Tapu Fini in doubles.

Mega Abomasnow probably or Mega Banette. Both should have been real evolutions.

The former because Abomasnow isn’t that great a design and the latter to match Dusknoir.

Not very usable but I think it’s cool

+1 for mega charizard x, mega rayquaza runner up. I really wanted to like mega Gyarados but all I see is a big ol shrimp :smiling_face_with_tear:

Pretty tough to pick a favorite…but Metagross is what I will choose for this thread

I have a tough time choosing a favorite. Alakazam’s toes interlocking freaks me out. Gengar’s third eye comes out of nowhere. Gyarados looks like a delicious shrimp. Lucario 's aurappendages are weirdly long. Steelix grew mutton chops. Rayquaza looks like a fun kite.

Of them, I think I might choose Gyarados.

This episode of the anime shows Brock’s Mega Steelix and Misty’s Mega Gyarados in action. It’s definitely worth watching!

Lucario was already a solid Pokémon with a unique design and a cool concept. But Mega Lucario takes all of that and refines it imo. The design upgrade is sleek and aggressive without being overdone like cough DRAGONITE cough. It really feels like Lucario evolving into its final, most focused form.

So elegant and menacing

I like mega beedrill. its sick as hell and I had fun using it, even if it wasn’t the best. Mine had fell stinger on it, and I tried to catch people off guard with a fell stinger +3 attack boost, then sweep from there. I think its also one of the strongest designs looks wise.

Can’t forget this classic

THE WALL

another good one design wise. Also the most frustrating tank if you foolishly let it set up. Yes I’m that person, sorry. Iron Defense, Calm Mind. Can’t be crit. Can’t even use knock off on it.

All the bugs get my approval too. Unique, fun to use, and look really good.

I think Mega Diancie is superb - such a great leap from standard diancie to elevate the look. 10/10 A+

Mega gyarados is pretty neat - although part of me feels like he’s been skipping leg day at the gym

I would say mega houndoom or aggron as they imo are the only ones that add more to the pokemon they mega evolve from and make it better by adding to the flaws of that pokemon. Mega beedrill and diancie are also great ones even though it’s not a direct upgrade since there’s nothing wrong with the pokemon they mega evolve from, but other than those 4 very few mega pokemon that i truly like or that feel like original and good designs

One of these 2

I gave it some more thinking and mega aggron really is so good design it has to be the number one alone, aggron itself has always been a bit disappointment for me and lacks some majesty but mega aggron fixes that conpletely. I just wish so much that we’ll get a good full art card of it, i don’t need any fancy SARs for it but just a good old full art that showcases the pokemon itself well

It’s always close between mega houndoom and mega manectric for me, but today I’m leaning towards the latter! I’ve never played a lot of competitive (and when I have, I’ve vastly preferred VGC to singles), but have loved using mega manectric when I’ve had the opportunity to use it. I also think it feels like a natural progression from manectric, even the accentuated mane.
